The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that one CBS soap star is one again addressing his status with the show. Y&R fans know Doug Davidson as Paul Williams, but what does his future in Genoa City look like? Davidson is expressing concern about it based on some recent retweets and Twitter comments.
This isn’t the first time Davidson has addressed Paul’s lack of airtime and story opportunities. Davidson has spoken out in the past about what he viewed as his firing. On more than one occasion, Davidson has voiced his displeasure about Y&R seemingly letting him go.
The Young and the Restless cast and crew aren’t on set right now, but the show’s hoping to get back in production this July. In the meantime, Davidson has been interacting with fans on Twitter and is perhaps trying to generate some support that’ll affect what’s next for Paul.
“It’s ridiculous that you’ve been cut out,” one outraged fan said in a tweet that Davidson shared. “Seeing all these old shows proves that you are an integral part of Y&R.” Another viewer insisted, “I can’t believe that they wrote you out, Doug! You were a major part of the YnR. Shame on those writers and shame on the Bell family for letting our Doug (Paul) go!!”
As for Davidson, he let his very vocal fans know that he’s genuinely grateful for them. All the supportive comments Davidson receives seem to mean the world to him. “I truly appreciate all your kindness and support,” Davidson tweeted. “You all are so amazing”
Of course, there’s no way to tell what’s ahead for Paul once Y&R’s back in production. It seems likely Davidson’s status will remain the same. Paul appears to have settled into solving crimes and getting lovey-dovey with Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) occasionally.
It’s tough to imagine that suddenly changing, but Paul fans are hoping for more airtime and stories.
