The episode is part of “Summer Fun Week” and will feature a Newman family pool party to celebrate Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) becoming a part of the family after Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) won custody of the little girl.

At the party, the whole Newman family will congregate along with others, including Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) and Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell). Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will commend Christine on her win, and Christine will be ready to move on to some of Victor’s legal issues. Victor will say that he assumed Christine would want some time off, but Christine will want to get going on his case pronto.

Later, Paul and Victor will chat privately, and Paul will tell Victor that he’s worried that Christine is suffering burnout from work. Victor will get pensive then make some mystery call. Elsewhere, Sharon’s mom Doris Collins (Karen Hensel) and Millie Johnson (Ernestine Mercer) will discuss Cassie. As the party wraps up, Nick will say a few words about how glad he is to have returned safely from New Mexico, and he’ll discuss the custody win. Sharon will take the opportunity to share a few words as well. Cassie will want to speak to the group, too, and she’ll say how happy she is to finally be part of a family and to have new grandparents, a brother, and parents.

In the course of her speech, Cassie will refer to Sharon and Nick as her mommy and daddy, and Nick will be visibly moved by the fact that Cassie called him her daddy. Meanwhile, over at the Chancellor mansion, Mackenzie “Mac” Browning (Ashley Bashioum) will talk with Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) about getting a job. Katherine will want Mac to simply kick back and enjoy the summer, but Mac will say that she wants to earn her keep.

Katherine will offer to drive Mac into town to hunt for jobs. Billy Abbott (David Tom) will arrive, and Mac will quickly exit, not wanting to be around him. Billy will take the opportunity to apologize to Katherine for his words the evening before and for making a scene. Katherine will graciously accept Billy’s apology.

Later, Billy will talk with his mom Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) and apologize to her for last night’s scene as well. Jill will note that Billy said some pretty hurtful things to her, but she’ll nevertheless accept his apology. Jill will go a little overboard quizzing Billy about his summer plans, and he’ll tell her to back off – he’s sixteen now and can plan his own summer.

Meanwhile, Tony Viscardi (Jay Bontatibus) will get an invitation to the Newman Ranch for the party, which will upset Grace Turner (Jennifer Gareis), who won’t have been invited. Grace will complain about how much she has done for the Newman family, and she’ll be furious that they are snubbing her. Tony will the notice a letter from the courts telling him that he’ll be standing trial for conspiracy and grand theft auto. Grace will comfort Tony.

Over with Megan Dennison (Ashley Jones), she’ll talk with her dad Keith Dennison (Granville Van Dusen), and at first, she’ll assume that Keith knows about her relationship with Tony, but she’ll quickly realize that Keith is going on about Tricia Dennison’s (Sabryn Genet) pregnancy. Megan will try to tell her father that there’s someone special in her life, and when she finally does, Keith will say that he wants to meet him.

Finally, Ryan McNeil (Scott Reeves) will enjoy breakfast and confer with Tricia about her morning sickness. Later, Keith will arrive and think that his daughter looks a bit sickly, which she’ll say comes with the territory. Tricia will wonder why Keith is there, and Keith will say that he’s there to take care of her problem.
