The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that some huge changes are in store now that the show has resumed filming. Y&R had a lengthy hiatus after shutting down in mid-March along with The Bold and the Beautiful. B&B’s writing team took this time off to focus on the big picture and figure out some new long-term stories. Multiple new characters are also coming on board as part of The Bold and the Beautiful’s plans.
What about The Young and the Restless? If B&B’s coming back strong with new stories, shockers and characters, shouldn’t Y&R do the same? They certainly don’t want their sister soap stealing all the spotlight. The Young and the Restless needs to come back strong as well, so let’s hope they’ve also been plotting some new storylines and ways to get fans tuning in again.
Over on B&B, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is finally getting a new man – the handsome Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan). There’s also a crucial recast since Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) is coming home. Some other members of core families are expected to hit town, too.
Perhaps The Young and the Restless could offer a fresh love interest or two when new episodes return. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to put another hunk in the mix. Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) could use some drama, so adding a key player for a love triangle would be smart.
Then again, maybe Y&R could add another lovely lady for Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson). If they decide to steer away from Theo and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) in favor of something exciting and new, they’ll need another woman to shake things up.
Some fans might even like to see a new love interest for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Phyllis and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) romance isn’t going to last forever, so she’ll need someone else to keep her warm at night eventually! Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is another character who could stand to be paired with some fresh blood.
A new woman for Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) would also be welcome since Jack just can’t seem to find the person he wants to grow old with. If Y&R wants to avoid stale couples and focus on the future like B&B’s doing, it may require some new cast members. It’s reasonable to think at least one or two might pop up down the road.
