The Young and the Restless Spoilers Review: Wednesday, September 23 – Billy’s New Dirt – Adam Out for Blood – Nate Secret Weapon

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers review for Wednesday, September 23, teases that some shockers are looming in Genoa City. At The Grand Phoenix, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) finds a distracted Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz), who can’t stop thinking about his heart-to-heart with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Abby thinks Chance’s first problem is believing Adam has a heart!

Once Abby learns Vegas was the topic of discussion, she worries something else happened with Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico). Chance keeps things cryptic, so Abby wonders what he’s getting at. “It means your brother has become dangerously unpredictable,” Chance admits.

Chance brings Abby up to speed on his meeting at the motel and notes that Adam said it was being taken care of. Abby realizes Adam’s taking matters into his own hands and frets about Adam potentially getting arrested. She adds that if that happens, then what happened in Vegas will come out – and Chance’s reputation will be ruined.

Chance argues that whatever kept him tight with Adam before is now a thing of the past. Adam refused to keep Chance in the loop, so that makes it hard for Chance to protect himself and those who matter most to him. Chance warns that he’s not going to sugarcoat this for Abby. “This could all go down the drain – and fast,” Chance insists.

At the penthouse, Adam tells Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) about Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) arriving at Chancellor Communications. Chelsea joins Adam as he listens on the bug that was planted.

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) welcomes more dirt if Victoria has it, so she talks about Adam doubling the dose of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) medication.

Victoria notes that someone who knows exactly what went down may be willing to talk for the right price. She thinks Alyssa can expand the scope of her story and suggests a headline about how a son would stop at nothing to kill his own dad. Billy’s hooked already and wants Victoria to tell him what he needs to do to get that in print.

Chelsea looks horrified as she eavesdrops with a pensive Adam at the penthouse. They hear Victoria talk about how the pharmacist lost her job and credentials, so she’s not a big fan of Adam. She’s the source who’s willing to talk.

Chelsea thinks they have to try to stop this since the info will be funneled to Alyssa, who’s out for blood. Adam notes that maybe he needs to be out for blood as well.

Chelsea learns Adam has an idea, but he thinks the less she knows the better. “Just trust me,” Adam says. It takes some convincing, but Chelsea agrees to let Adam handle this. Once Chelsea’s upstairs, Adam calls someone to take care of something quickly and quietly. He wants this person to do it right now.

Back at Chance Comm, Billy’s glad to be on the same side as Victoria again. He asks if Victoria’s OK, so she insists she’s fine. Billy rants about Victor treating his children like chess pieces. He contends that if Victoria had listened to him, maybe things would’ve been different between them.

Victoria’s outraged over that idea and fires back about Billy’s behavior being the only thing that might’ve made things different. Billy’s incapable of change and is as entrenched in his ways as Victor.

There are three things Victoria can count on: death, taxes and Billy getting restless, undermining any chance of his own happiness and taking everyone down with him.

Victoria reminds Billy that they’re allies, not friends. “This is business, not personal,” Victoria snaps. She storms out after Billy says he’s got it.

At the New Hope Clinic, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) seems put out with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). The tension gets worse after a text comes in from Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), who’s with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan).

Elena rants about being the last to know and insists Nate has a really one-sided way of helping people out.

Nate explains how disappointed Amanda was after Devon shut her out. It left Nate feeling obligated to intervene, so Elena’s upset with him. She feels like being patient and understanding has only let to being taken for granted and left in the dark.

Nate’s trying to do what’s best for everyone involved, but Elena doesn’t think this is what’s best for her.

Nate argues that once Amanda gets the answers she needs, everything will settle down. Elena rants about how this sounds a lot like how everything was supposed to settle down after Amanda wrapped up the case surrounding Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) will.

Then, it was supposed to be after Amanda’s abusive ex problems were over. Then, it was after Amanda and Nate got together.

Nate contends that Elena is Devon’s priority, but she points out that all she got was a measly text after Devon invited the twin of the woman he used to love into their home. It’s pretty clear to Elena who Devon’s priority is. “And it’s not me!” Elena declares. “Not anymore.”

Once Elena’s cooled off, she admits she didn’t mean what she said about Devon. However, Elena’s concerned about all this time Devon and Amanda are spending together. Elena feels different now, but Nate doesn’t think she has anything to be frightened of and reminds her she isn’t alone.

Nate suggests Elena’s imagination is the greatest threat to her relationship, so he plans to keep her grounded, safe and happy. “I’m your secret weapon,” Nate says. “Deal?” Elena ends up leaving in a rush and confuses Nate in the process.

At Devon’s penthouse, he explains how Nate encouraged him to help Amanda. Devon also talks about how he initially took a step back as a form of self-preservation. He now wants to share Hilary Curtis Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan) memory with Amanda and let it be a blessing.

Devon texts Amanda a link so she can watch Hilary’s old GC Buzz segments. Although Amanda previously watched some of the show, that was before she knew Hilary was her twin.

Devon thinks seeing Hilary in action like that is the best way to get to know her style and charisma. He reflects on how Hilary loved the spotlight and knew how to get under people’s skin.

Devon also talks about how his relationship with Hilary was fiery – and they were stubborn at times. If things had been different, Devon and Hilary would’ve spent their whole lives arguing and making up. Amanda insists she would’ve been the confidant who urged Hilary to work things out with Devon.

Amanda wonders if Devon would be willing to watch a GC Buzz episode with her. She’ll be seeing Hilary through fresh eyes, but she wants to watch through Devon’s eyes, too.

Devon watches with Amanda, who marvels at how a stranger can feel so familiar. Amanda can see all the great qualities Devon pointed out, but she senses that Devon’s getting emotional and fears it’s too much.

Devon assures Amanda that he just wishes Hilary were there with them because she’d love every minute of this. “I love it, too,” Devon promises on Monday’s Y&R episode. Later, Amanda notes that some questions may never be answered – like why Rose Turner put Amanda up for adoption.

After Devon starts smiling, Amanda wonders why. “I was just thinking of all the hell you two would’ve raised together,” Devon says. Amanda’s thankful that Devon came around on helping her, and he admits he’s open to talking about Hilary again.

Amanda promises to take full advantage of Devon’s generosity and will be in touch.

Elena comes home to a romantic setup, which Devon calls just a portion of what she deserves. After Elena asks about his meeting with Amanda, he admits it was a little cathartic.

Devon gets that helping Amanda isn’t ideal, but it’s not forever – not like Devon and Elena. “We’re forever,” Devon insists. He gets Elena to say she trusts him, but she looks concerned as they hug.

Amanda stops by the clinic and gushes over all the answers she’s getting. She used to hate how shocked everyone was over how much she looked like Hilary, but now it’s all she wants to hear. Amanda gets choked up over how bittersweet it is since Hilary’s gone.

Nate steps out to take a call and finds that Amanda’s become even more emotional. She’s just so happy to have people of her own – a twin, parents… Amanda doesn’t know the whole story, but this is a beautiful beginning.

At Society, Chance walks in and notices Victoria at the bar. Victoria spots Chance as he tries to discreetly exit again, so she calls out to him. They end up discussing Adam on Wednesday’s Young and the Restless episode, but Chance claims they don’t talk much.

Victoria finds that odd due to Chance’s “misadventures with Adam in Vegas – not to mention while they were all mourning Adam’s death, Chance knew exactly where he was and what he was doing. “I had my reasons,” Chance says. Victoria wonders if Chance’s connection to Adam is really dead and buried.

Chance would rather live in the present and mentions he’s up for a job at the GCPD. Victoria says Chance will have to hold himself up to higher standards with a role like that. Isn’t Chance worried it’ll bump up against some of his prior activities?

Chance suggests if Victoria’s asking if he has skeletons in his closet…then “don’t we all?” Victoria thinks Chance had better get used to people questioning his integrity.

After Billy calls Alyssa and leaves a message to make sure she’s decent, he arrives upstairs and sees that she’s not in her suite. There’s no sign of Alyssa or her stuff, so Billy looks perplexed.

We’ll pass along updates as other Y&R news emerges. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Alyssa’s disappearance will lead to more curveballs, so stay tuned. CDL’s where you want to be for sizzling Young and the Restless spoilers, news and updates.
