Hardcore Y&R fans know that Shadam originally meant Case and Michael Muhney (Adam). That early 2010’s couple was outstanding, as both actors had terrific chemistry, a creative lead-in storyline, and compelling arcs to ride, which they certainly did.
Then, Shadam receded, with Chadam eventually becoming Adam’s main concern. He did fall in love with Chelsea and they had children. Riley Newman (Malachi Brown) died in a car accident before birth. Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) is the second child this couple had.
Justin Hartley (Adam) stepped into the role in 2014 and also played it exceedingly well. There was no involvement with Sharon during this time, as Y&R opted to make Chelsea become Adam’s focus.

As is true with most things Adam, Sharon experienced many highs and lows when she was with him in the past. Despite his cruelty, meaning when he stole Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) at birth, Adam is the person who helped Sharon receive her mental health diagnosis.
Through various relationships, including another attempt at remarriage to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Sharon was able to achieve stability. For the first time in many years she was living a balanced life, with legitimate hope for the future. Then, cancer struck.

The power of reclaiming his family was immense. But Adam wasn’t able to live with that peace of mind for long, as he forced Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to reveal what happened in Kansas. That, coupled with Alyssa Montalvo’s (Maria DiDomenico) desire for revenge, created a whole new set of problems.
Rey has offered peaceful relationship stability, which is a stark contrast to the electric chaos Shadam offered. And Y&R fans have taken notice that Sharon is allowing herself to be draw to the contrast that Adam offers, which is dangerous and makes for great soap.
