The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) may be in for a shock down the road. Y&R fans know Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) went to Sharon and begged for her assistance putting Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) in a mental health facility.
Sharon ultimately agreed that Adam needed help, which led to Adam being committed.
Although Adam wasn’t happy about that, his younger self has been pushing him to accept his treatment and get better. Somewhere deep inside, Adam knows this is what’s best for him. That means there’s hope for Adam – and if there’s hope for Adam, there’s hope for a “Shadam” reunion, too.
Sharon admitted she didn’t think Adam would ever forgive her for teaming up with Victor and taking such a drastic step. It’s not surprising that Adam would be against this move in his current state, but he’ll ultimately make great strides in his recovery.
Things should get worse for Adam before they get better, but he’ll have a major breakthrough sooner or later.
Sharon’s used to Adam blowing back into her life in unhealthy ways and making irrational decisions – like the time he proposed when they weren’t even dating. However, Sharon could be faced with a very different Adam eventually – a grateful one who shows up on her doorstep to thank her.
Despite Sharon’s fears that Adam wouldn’t forgive her, Adam may catch her off guard by actually appreciating what she did for him. This would naturally open the door to a renewed “Shadam” friendship and perhaps make Adam more of a threat to “Shey” than ever.
As it stands right now, Sharon and Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilauso) marriage doesn’t have any major roadblocks preventing it. Unless one of them gets cold feet and backs out, there may not be anything to stop this wedding from happening.
The real threat may come afterward once Sharon and Rey are newlyweds. They could kick off a happy new chapter together only to have Adam reenter the picture following his release.
It could lead to serious strife since Rey’s never going to trust that Adam’s changed – and even if he does, he certainly won’t trust Adam not to make a move on Sharon.
Rey may try to trust his new wife, but Sharon has proven that Adam is her weak spot. Once Adam’s better and has moved past his issues, he may tear Sharon and Rey’s new marriage apart.
A healthy Adam could make Sharon more willing to let Adam in her heart – and that could prove catastrophic for her new marriage to Rey!
