The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will put Chancellor Communications in crisis mode soon enough. Billy will ignore Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) warning about making sure the story’s thoroughly vetted before publishing.
Lily will reel after the scandal surrounding Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) puts Chance Comm’s credibility and future in jeopardy.
When a situation like this comes along, someone usually has to get the boot from the company. Since Billy’s loving this job and all the power it offers, he may decide it’s not going to be him! That’s especially true if Y&R follows up on an intriguing romantic possibility.
The Young and the Restless fans will recall that Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) did some flirting with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), who’s single and might be down for a hookup. As the stress of all the Newman drama gets worse, Victoria might finally take advantage of The Grand Phoenix Escape Club.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) has been pushing Victoria to take a breather and let herself be pampered, so Victoria just might go for it. That’d put Victoria in the prime position to cross paths with Theo at the hotel and hit the sheets with him.
If Billy were to find out, it’s safe to say he wouldn’t like Theo sleeping with his ex and the mother of his children!
Since Y&R has teased this potential Theo and Victoria pairing, are they setting Billy up to turn against Theo? It’s an option to mull over – and that brings us back to Chancellor Communications’ crisis.
Billy could easily make Theo the scapegoat who gets fired. They’ve already established what a wildcard Theo is and how Billy sees so much of himself in Theo.
It’d be simple for Billy to frame Theo for publishing this story and setting off the media firestorm. Theo could deny it, but what good would that do him? Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) fired Theo for plotting to steal Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) job on more than one occasion.
Theo later got fired at Jabot for stealing Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) old pitch and trying to cheat with it.
It’s clear that Theo doesn’t have a great track record, so Billy could use that to his advantage. Theo’s a troublemaker, so Billy could throw him under the bus to protect himself.
