The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) still has a lot of growing up to do. Theo definitely has a softer side in certain situations, but he’s also his own worst enemy. When the pressure’s on, Theo tends to blow it.
If Theo had just trusted his own talent at Jabot, he probably would’ve come up with a great pitch that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) would’ve approved of. Even if Theo lost the competition, he’d still have a job right now!
Instead, Theo chose to steal and was shown the door. It’s clear that Theo has to start making better choices or else his bad luck’s going to continue.
Theo’s come a long way from the insufferable guy he was when he tormented Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) over that New York secret, but he’s got further to go.
Is Theo capable of maturing and becoming a real man? Theo still seems like some kind of frat boy in many ways, so maybe Y&R should throw something at him that forces him to grow up quickly.
There’s always been plenty of talk about Theo’s father, who died when he was a teenager. Perhaps The Young and the Restless could take that theme in a new direction. What kind of dad would Theo be?
Could Theo rise to the challenge of being a good father? Those are questions Theo would have to ponder if he managed to get someone on canvas pregnant.
Theo wants a future with Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle), but she’s been adamant about taking their romance slowly. That could be the prime setup for things to build until neither one of them can take the passionate tension anymore.
It could also lead to some forgotten protection and another baby scare for Lola – one that sticks this time!
Although there was buzz before the shutdown about Lola leaving Y&R, plans easily could’ve changed while production’s been halted. This extended break may have brought some shifts in story planning, so there could be some unexpected developments once the show’s back up and running.
Of course, Theo’s a handsome guy who could be paired up with other love interests as well. The Bold and the Beautiful is adding some new characters now that they’re back in production, so Y&R may have some new characters coming, too. Theo could land in bed with a surprising new woman down the road.
Regardless, Theo’s got a problem with using hookups as his answer to everything – at least that’s how Summer Newman (Hunter King) felt. Could it be a hookup that causes more trouble for Theo? Should Y&R drop a baby bomb and use it to help Theo grow up?
