The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, January 2 Recap – Nick & Chelsea Split - Theo Wants Lola - Billy & Amanda's Date

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 2, teases that some New Year’s Eve festivities will kick off. At Society, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will hope to make this neutral territory for the evening. She’ll joke about having “Chance” Chancellor (Donny Boaz) there to keep the peace.

All the guests will trickle in and start to mingle – including Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), who’ll confront Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). After Phyllis rants about the Grand Phoenix’s numbers, she’ll shift gears and blast Chelsea for not setting Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) straight.

Chelsea will insist she talked to Adam, but Phyllis will still feel like Chelsea’s stringing Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) along.

Summer Newman (Hunter King) will grow concerned over her mother’s antics, so she’ll corner Phyllis and accuse her of stirring the pot. She’ll worry this is some kind of justification for pursuing Nick again, but Phyllis will be adamant that she’s not looking to get involved with anyone.

However, Phyllis will gaze in Chance’s direction. She’ll end up pestering him about Vegas and wondering if Abby knows anything about it.

Phyllis will contend that unlike Abby, she can keep a secret – when she wants to, that is. As for Adam, he’ll get updates on Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) goal for the year. Victor will suggest that his resolution is to keep better track of his medication!

Nevertheless, Victor will acknowledge that Adam’s watching out for Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and he approves of that. Since Victor also bounced back from his illness, he’ll feel good about how this year’s wrapping up.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will also have some big news for Adam in Thursday’s Y&R episode. She’ll reveal that she convinced the principal to let Connor remain at Walnut Grove.

Over with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), she’ll fret about Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Victoria won’t want Billy falling back into old habits. Nikki will suggest Billy should attend a meeting, but Billy will remain MIA at this party. That’s because he’ll be busy with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) at their favorite dive bar.

Billy won’t super chatty at first, but he’ll like the fact that there’s no pressure with Amanda. He’ll think he can be himself when he’s with her. Amanda will insist she feels the same way when she’s with Billy.

Talk will turn to Amanda feeling free in high school before she had to focus on doing all the right things. Billy will get what Amanda means and will note that he feels more alive since leaving Jabot.

Amanda will point out that she always feels the need to be in control, but that’s something she’d like to break away from. Before Billy leaves, he’ll remind Amanda that she has his number and can get in touch if she needs anything.

Back at Society, Nick will open up to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about knowing he’s losing Chelsea. He’ll fear Chelsea’s with him for the wrong reasons – like because he’s safe and dependable.

Soon after, Victor will make a toast followed by Jack, who’ll encourage everyone to raise a glass for Victor and Nikki on their anniversary. Back with Victoria, she’ll look at her phone and see no word from Billy. Nearby, Nick will share a private moment with Chelsea.

Nick will think Chelsea needs to be honest with herself and with him, which means admitting she needs to be with Adam.

Nick will tell Chelsea he has to let her go, so she’ll accept this is for the best. Chelsea will thank Nick for everything before they kiss goodbye and embrace. After Adam watches them briefly, he’ll decide to take off.

Later, Chelsea will show up at Adam’s penthouse, where they’ll take each other’s hands and ultimately watch the fireworks through the window.

Other Young and the Restless spoilers say Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will talk to Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle) about how she made his favorite dish. He’ll get flirty and want to dance with Lola, but Summer will halt that plan as Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) walks over.

Summer will dance with Theo herself and wonder what he’s doing. He’ll declare that he’s setting his intentions. Theo will note that this is the time to reaffirm goals and get rid of whatever’s in the way.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will welcome Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will also be on hand for this lowkey gathering.

After Sharon introduces Tessa to the other partygoers, Tessa will sing a new song and get a kiss from Mariah when she’s done. Just before midnight, a surprising text will come in on Tessa’s phone.

Mariah will be excited to hear that it’s from Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman), a platinum recording artist who wants to meet with Tessa. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Tessa will look uneasy over this message.

We know Tanner is tied to Tessa’s past, but she won’t mention that right now. It seems Tessa would rather see shady Tanner and get a better grip on his angle first.

At Society again, Billy will make it just in time to kiss Victoria at midnight. Chance will also share a smooch with Abby while Victor locks lips with Nikki. As for lonely Nick and Summer, they’ll get a father-daughter hug. Summer will try to be optimistic about 2020 being their best year yet.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say an action-packed episode’s coming up. We’ll keep you posted as other Y&R details emerge. Stick with the CBS soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news.
