The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Thursday, January 9, tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will return to the penthouse after picking up her things at Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) place. She’ll learn that Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) is at the ranch, and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will note that Connor seems to have had a weight lifted off of his shoulders. Adam will hope that seeing Connor improve will help erase Chelsea’s doubts.
Adam will then take a call from Connor’s principal and he’ll set a meeting for them to discuss setting Connor up to succeed. Chelsea will be impressed and will give Adam a big hug for his efforts.
Talk will turn to how fiercely Adam loves, and she’ll say that she’s missed him. He’ll reciprocate the sentiment, and he’ll urge her to believe that they can have what they once had.
Chelsea will get emotional and excited, as she finally feels everything that she’s been holding inside since she found out that Adam was alive. She’ll say that this has to be real, and that she and Connor can’t go through losing him again.
Adam will say that he’s going to protect her with everything he has. They’ll kiss, and upstairs they’ll undress and fall onto the bed.
Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Thursday, January 9, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will arrive home to find a romantic candlelit dinner setup by Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). It will be an early birthday celebration for Mariah, who will be touched by the gesture.
Tessa will want to celebrate, but Mariah will wonder about the tour, and Tessa will reveal that she’s going to go on tour with Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman).
Tessa will way that the only way she was able to make the decision was because of the strength of their relationship, and Mariah let her know that she wants this for Tessa. Mariah won’t be worried about the separation, since they share one heart.
They’ll kiss, and after making love, Tessa will give Mariah her birthday present – a diary.
But it won’t be just any diary – it will be Tessa’s, and full of her innermost thoughts. Tessa will say that taking Mariah’s journal was the worst thing she ever did, and that she hadn’t earned the right to see into her soul. But now she’ll want Mariah to know everything that she has to offer. They’ll kiss happily.
Finally, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will head to her mammogram and ultrasound appointment without telling anyone what she’s going through. Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will notice that something’s off with her, but he’ll chalk it up to him being busy and not being around much lately.
Sharon will wait for her ultrasound anxiously, and the technician will tell her that her mammogram was inconclusive due to dense tissue, and that the ultrasound would provide more information. Her mammogram will get underway, and the screen will show what appears to be a large tumor, which Sharon will glance at nervously.
Afterwards, the radiologist will come in and after some clinical talk, he’ll reveal that the ultrasound was necessary to determine whether the mass was a cyst or a solid tumor. He’ll say that her ultrasound indicated that her tumor was solid, and that she needs to have a biopsy after consulting with her oncologist.
Sharon will look completely overwhelmed, and later she’ll simply stare at her biopsy paperwork in shock.
