The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Monday, October 5 – Nick Busts Nate & Elena – Amanda Baby Blunder – Faith Heartbreak

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, October 5, teases that some bombshells are coming up in Genoa City. At the Grand Phoenix, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) proposes a toast to Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) and the path that led Amanda to her.

Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) raises a glass and suggests his own toast – to taking chances and letting new people into your life because you never know what’s going to happen.

Later, Amanda laughs over Hilary being afraid of cows. Although Amanda likes to think her own fears are rational, she does feel like she had a lot in common with Hilary. Hilary was relentlessly ambitious like Amanda – and they both liked spicy food along with The Price Is Right.

Even so, Devon feels like the difference between Amanda and Hilary is night and day. Amanda is so grounded, but Hilary was imaginative and always caught up in her own head.

That doesn’t bother Amanda, who’s fine with being the logical one and cherishes her privacy. Amanda will never be starring in The Amanda Show and isn’t ready for a baby anytime soon.

Devon smiles, but Amanda catches herself and apologizes for sticking her foot in her mouth. However, Devon doesn’t think there’s any need to be sorry and notes how rare an apology was from Hilary. It’s yet another way Amanda is her own person.

Devon then makes a speech about family. “Is that what I am? Family?” Amanda asks. Devon jokes about Amanda being his “sister-in-law once removed a birth.” Amanda likes the idea of being friends, so Devon says let’s go with friends.

Meanwhile, things are getting hot, hot, hot at the clinic! Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) have the steamiest social distanced love scene possible.

Immediately after, Elena runs out of the exam room covering herself in a lab coat. Elena looks horrified by what she just did as shirtless Nate appears behind her.

Elena eventually starts throwing her clothes on. “What did we just do?! I love Devon!” Elena insists. Nate insists he does, too – they’re family. Elena thinks they’re smarter than this, but Nate points out that things happen.

Elena’s freaking out and isn’t blaming Nate, but this shouldn’t have happened and can’t happen again. “Of course not,” Nate says. Nate swears to Elena they’ll never speak of this again.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) appears as Elena’s rushing out – and then sees shirtless Nate putting his shirt on. Nick mentions seeing Elena run past. “I was worried the place might be on fire,” Nick says. Nate acknowledges that it’s been a rough night, so Nick suggests Nate should tell him about it.

Nate spills the story about Jared (Michael Maclane) overdosing and how things turned emotional. He’s quick to change the subject to why Nick’s there. Nick admits some supplies were dropped off at the New Hope office that were meant for the clinic.

Nate agrees to help unload the supplies, but he turns down Nick’s offer to knock back a couple at Society and talk about what happened tonight. Nate says he needs time to decompress, but it’ll all work out. Nick gives Nate a look that says, “If you say so.”

At the Chancellor mansion, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) is trying to coax her baby boy out tonight. She’ll give him anything! Behind the sofa, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) jokes around by doing a baby voice and telling Chloe to throw in a convertible with a driver.

Chloe plays along for a bit before they establish that they’re a team and decide to get this little guy moving.

Kevin gives a father-son talk and runs down the list of reasons why he could come out. Nothing happens, so Chloe gets up and tells Kevin to call his brother. “I am serving this kid with an eviction notice…tonight!” Chloe vows.

At Crimson Lights, Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) is distracted by Internet trolls and seeks Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) sisterly advice. Mariah pushes Faith to stay off the Internet and says that as a stolen baby herself, the experience can be character building. Mariah suggests she’s stronger for it.

Faith feels like she shouldn’t even be thinking about her problems due to Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) upcoming surgery. Mariah doesn’t think Faith has to put her own problems aside. Mariah’s worried as well, but she’s hopeful about the future.

Faith doesn’t seem as optimistic that this will all be behind them next year. She turns down a brownie and opts to get back to studying, though she has no idea what the topic is. Mariah looks concerned and texts Nick for help.

At Sharon’s place, she talks to Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) about her surgery. Rey can tell there’s something Sharon wants to ask, so she talks about how she messed things up before. Sharon takes responsibility, but she acknowledges that they’ve worked through it and become stronger.

Sharon would really love it if Rey would move back in. After Sharon’s heartfelt spiel, Rey agrees that’s what he wants and spells out all the romantic reasons why. Rey wants to love Sharon the way she deserves to be loved.

At home, Elena calls out for Devon and finds the place empty. When Devon comes back, Elena seems uneasy and distracted. Devon asks if something happened at the clinic tonight, but Esther suggests she’s just tired. They talk about the clinic, and Devon notes that Elena makes a good team with Nate.

When Elena learns Devon had another nice talk with Amanda, she seems agitated and lashes out over it taking half the night. Devon feels it was productive and cathartic, but Elena doesn’t see it that way.

“There’s nothing going on between me and Amanda,” Devon promises. He thought Elena would be happy since he learned Amanda’s nothing like Hilary. Devon loves Elena and only Elena.

After Devon insists he loves their life together, he can tell Elena’s getting more emotional. Devon wonders if he can help, so she says he’s right – and that she’ll tell him everything.

Elena lies that they don’t usually get such a high volume of patients, so it took a toll. “Y’all should be proud of what you did tonight. I know I’m proud!” Devon gushes. “Don’t be,” Elena insists.

Devon feels lucky that Elena is his and goes in for a hug, but she’s in tears over his shoulder. Elena tells Devon she’s so sorry, but he thinks it’s fine. After Elena heads to bed, she stops on the stairs to look back down at Devon. Elena’s clearly in despair over her earlier betrayal.

Nick shows up at the coffeehouse, so Faith quickly realizes Mariah called him. Faith assures Nick that she’s fine, but she can’t understand why people even still talk to Adam.

Faith thinks he’s a monster like the article said. “He’s dangerous. He’s like a cancer,” Faith insists. She just wants to cut Adam out.

Nick notes that it’s not that simple before talk turns to Sharon’s surgery. Faith’s trying to be optimistic that the doctors will get every last bit of the cancer this time.

At the cottage again, Sharon frets about her surgery and wonders how Rey will feel about more scars. Rey loves those scars because they prove Sharon is a fighter. “I love all of you, Sharon,” Rey says.

After Rey goes to make tea, Sharon sits down at the desk and starts crying. Faith arrives and peeks in at her distraught mom before racing off. At Society on Monday’s Y&R episode, Nate drinks and ignores Amanda’s calls.

Back at the Chancellor mansion, Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) shows up to support Chloe. She reflects on the stormy night Chloe burst into the world on those very stairs with only Mrs. C to hold her hand.

It was chaotic, but then there was his perfect little person who changed Esther’s life. Esther promises this little boy will do the same for Chloe.

Later, Chloe screams Kevin’s name. She insists it’s showtime and adds that this baby won’t be born on the stairs. “We’re having a baby!” Kevin shouts on Monday’s Young and the Restless episode.
