The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Tuesday, August 11 – Nick Bribes Abby – Phyllis Sabotage – Theo Wins Billy Over

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, August 11, teases that some hot drama’s ahead in Genoa City. At the Abbott mansion, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) finds Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) questioning the idea of pressuring Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) to go up against Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Abby thinks Jack’s done all he could to support Theo, but he still feels guilty.

Nevertheless, Abby deems Theo a screwup and argues that Jack has to stop blaming himself. Jack protests that Theo’s family, but Abby contends that you only get so many chances.

At Society, Theo makes a video on his phone about getting back in the game, but someone walks in the shot and ruins it. When Theo spots a bag of takeout for Chancellor Communications, he has a Eureka moment.

After Theo gets inspired and scribbles down a note, he places it in the bag and looks cautiously optimistic. At Chancellor Communications, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) grills Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) about the uncomfortable vibe between Billy and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan).

Lily wonders if it was a mistake to hire Amanda and asks if this is going to work.

Once lunch is delivered, Lily pushes for the scoop on Billy and Amanda’s relationship. Billy explains what went down and assures Lily that he can work with Amanda. He’s just adjusting to their new professional dynamic. Billy teases that Amanda won’t hold back the “visionary force that is Billy Abbott.”

Next, Billy gets in the food bag and pulls out Theo’s new proposal. Lily sees a list of influencers and blockers along with a note to call “Theo V.” Billy explains Theo’s Abbott family link and insists he doesn’t trust Theo. He runs down all the red flags, but Lily thinks Theo has an eye for talent.

Meanwhile, Theo’s still at Society checking out the video he filmed. He declares it “lame” before Billy calls and offers 10 minutes to let him make his pitch. Theo only needs five and dashes over immediately.

At Chance Comm, Theo argues that he understands how young people think and what their attention span is. He feels like these influencers will be helpful – and he can bring all of them to Chancellor Communications. Y&R fans will recall that Theo got fired from Jabot, so Billy calls him out on that and forces him to elaborate.

Theo admits he breezed past it since he only had a limited time to make his pitch. He blames himself for what happened at Jabot and thinks Chancellor Communications would be a much better fit. Once Theo’s gone, Billy and Lily have completely switched sides. Now Lily doesn’t trust Theo, but Billy thinks they should give him a chance.

At Crimson Lights, Theo apologizes to Jack and admits he’s relieved to be pulling his own weight again. They patch things up and Theo jokes about maybe inheriting the same “causing trouble” gene from Jack.

Theo still wants to keep visiting Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams), which pleases Jack. Theo gets reassurance that his departure from the company doesn’t change his connection to the family.

In Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) hotel suite, she drags in a cumbersome box and sounds exhausted from trying to get it inside. Phyllis looks in the box briefly before there’s a knock at the door. It’s Amanda, who saw Phyllis’ box battle. When Amanda pushes for answers, Phyllis lies that she ordered a bunch of clothes online.

Amanda barges in to see the clothes, but she’s stunned by what she finds instead. Phyllis says it’s not what Amanda thinks, but Amanda thinks it’s a bone – and it is. “The question is whose,” Amanda ponders.

Amanda notices there are more bones in the box and wants answers. Phyllis argues that they’re not real or human, but Amanda feels Phyllis still hasn’t answered the question.

Amanda doesn’t buy Phyllis’ art installation explanation, so Phyllis claims it’s a personal project for a good cause. Phyllis eventually admits they’re dinosaur bones and they’re going to save The Grand Phoenix from extinction.

At Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) place, she’s glad to be home and relieved that the surgery’s over. The house is quiet, so Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) tells Sharon she can rest and let him take care of everything.

Moments later, Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) appears with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

Faith gives Sharon a gentle hug and starts asking questions. Rey thinks maybe Sharon could use a break, but Shaon thinks she can handle a few more. Faith wonders if they got rid of all the cancer or if it spread.

Everyone looks concerned, but Sharon notes that nothing’s certain until she gets the pathology report. This isn’t over since Sharon still has chemo and radiation to go through.

The conversation shifts to the takeout meals they got for Sharon – all her favorites. Tessa mentions that they ran into Phyllis and Nick at the pizza place, which confuses Sharon.

Nick is forced to admit he’s back together with Phyllis, but Sharon isn’t in the right headspace to even process this. She seems agitated, so Nick takes off and Rey helps Sharon upstairs to rest.

In The Grand Phoenix lobby, Nick updates Phyllis on Sharon’s surgery and admits Sharon now knows about their reunion. Nick catches Phyllis looking at her watch moments later and wonders what she’s up to. Phyllis is being way too calm about all the construction that’s going on.

Phyllis has some dirt on her neck, so Nick wipes it off and makes Phyllis promise that Abby won’t get hurt. Afterward, Nick calls Abby and wants to make her an offer. At Society, Nick lets Abby scroll though buildings he owns.

The goal is to shut down Abby’s construction and give her a new building to renovate, which Nick considers a win-win situation.

Abby guesses Phyllis put Nick up to this, but he insists this is all him. When Abby’s phone dings with some news, so does Nick’s. They talk about Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) getting the CEO seat back before Nick asks if Abby’s willing to make the deal.

In the hotel lobby again, Amanda fills Phyllis in on her new job. Phyllis also needs Amanda’s help on a marketing idea for the perfect staycation.

Back at Sharon’s place, she confesses she couldn’t sleep and talks to Mariah about her scars. Sharon hasn’t seen what’s underneath her bandages, but she knows it’ll look different.

Sharon cries and wonders if it’s crazy or superficial to worry about this. Mariah insists it isn’t and thinks it’d be weird if Sharon didn’t worry about it. She contends that maybe it won’t be that noticeable.

Even if it is, Mariah doesn’t think Rey will care and wonders if it’d be “hokey” for Sharon to view he incision as a physical representation of her bravery. Sharon admits it’s indeed a little hokey, but that’s a good idea. A teary Mariah reminds Sharon that she’ll always be the most beautiful woman in the world to her.

Later, Sharon enjoys pizza and some laughs with Mariah, Tessa, Rey and Faith. Mariah admits she bribed the doorman at one of the places that doesn’t do takeout. Sharon makes them all promise to not get convicted of any crimes before she’s in remission.
