Longtime viewers fondly recall the character Signy Coleman (Hope Wilson) masterfully began playing in the 1990’s. Victor happened upon Hope after he left Genoa City, Wisconsin.
A series of soapy events caused his loved ones to believe he’d been killed. But actually Victor saved Hope from being attacked, formed a friendship with her, fell in love and became immersed in his new life in Kansas.
Victor and Hope eventually married and had a child, who they named Victor Adam Newman Junior. While Hope returned with Victor to GC, she eventually found that life away from her farm wasn’t pleasing.
So, she made the decision to take Adam back to the farm. The child version of Adam came to believe that Cliff Wilson (David Cowgill) was his father. The SORAS’d (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) version of Adam (as first played by Chris Engen) learned the truth in 2008, when Hope was dying.

Viewers know that Adam was living in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a period of time following the cabin explosion in 2016. He was knocked unconscious in the blast and somehow made his way to Vegas.
Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) ran into Spider, which was Adam’s assumed professional poker playing persona, while he was pursuing a criminal suspect.
As Adam detailed to Chance earlier this year, while Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was remotely listening and recording their conversation, Adam killed Chance’s target in an act of self-defense.
Clearly, the above reveal happened so that it can be linked to the recent revelation about Kansas, where Adam defended his mother by killing his childhood friend’s father. Why else would Y&R have exposed Grossman and Boaz’ connection and covered secret?

Victor must feel a part of Adam is indeed heroic since as a mere child the boy physically defended his blind mom from a deadly mobster!
Victor’s sympathy for Adam caused him to coverup what happened in Kansas. The head of the Newman clan and family empire now wants his youngest son to keep quiet about what he’s been told.
Adam’s coming need to deal with the lingering Vegas problem will likely force him to consider, if not accept, his father’s help. Victor is the ultimate fixer, which probably makes an alliance Adam’s best option.
