The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that the shooter mystery is still unsolved, which leaves the door open for more speculation. It feels like Y&R may be gearing up for a huge shocker, so let’s consider one suspect who’d be pretty surprising but would also make sense under the circumstances.
Could Gloria Fisher Bardwell (Judith Chapman) have been the one who pulled the trigger? Let’s consider what we know so far. For starters, Gloria returned to town and left a big storyline dangling.
What was all that talk on the phone about how Gloria tried to warn them “that night”? What was on the flash drive Gloria left behind? It was weird for Y&R to set up another major mystery and then do nothing with it.
Perhaps that’s because it would later tie in with the mystery of who tried to shoot Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Gloria claimed she was working in Hollywood, but that entire story felt bogus. No one knows for sure where Gloria was or what she was doing. Gloria could just as easily have been in Vegas, which could’ve left her mixed up in all the Adam and Chance Chancellor (Justin Gaston) drama.
Perhaps when Gloria talked about her warning “that night,” she was talking about the night the Vegas widow’s husband was killed.
The Young and the Restless has established that the deceased man was involved in money laundering, so that’d be something Gloria would keep a secret from her family back in Genoa City. Maybe that’s how Gloria’s been supporting herself this whole time.
Gloria left that flash drive behind at the Chancellor mansion, so her storyline remains unfinished. She’ll have to come back into the picture eventually, so this shooter route could set up a shocking return. It’s clear that Gloria’s in over her head here.
If Gloria is hiding leverage in GC, she’s obviously trying to protect herself. If Gloria is trying to protect herself, then that means the people she’s involved with pose a serious threat.
It’s reasonable to think Gloria could be pushed into carrying out the shooting and setting up Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) as a reasonable fall guy.
Billy’s the perfect person to frame since he loathed Adam and recently ran that nasty exposé on him. Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) pointed out that the dismantled gun in the Chance Comm dumpster seemed like a panic move rather than something a professional hitman would do.
Gloria might fit the bill since she’s capable of doing something like this, but she’s also not a pro.
Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) offered repeated warnings about Gloria’s trouble, so Y&R has to follow up on whatever that trouble is. It’s possible the Vegas widow or someone else caught up in that Vegas web forced Gloria to carry out this scheme.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kevin and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will remain tied to Chelsea’s storyline, which is obviously tied to Adam. That could be a sign that everything will connect in some way – and Gloria could be the glue that binds everything together.
