The Young and the Restless Spoilers: What’s Next for Jack Abbott – 4 Problems Troubled Abbott Tackles in New Y&R Episodes

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) should be a busy guy once new episodes hit the screen. When Y&R last left off, several storylines were heating up or kicking off new chapters. The Young and the Restless will finally be able to continue those, so there’ll be some great opportunities for Jack to face drama. Here are four problems this troubled Abbott will have to tackle.

1) Complicated love for Jack Abbott

Jack’s still searching for his perfect match – that is, of course, unless his perfect match is a former flame. Y&R seemed like they were ready to give Jack and Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) another try before the show ran out of fresh content. Will that still be the plan once The Young and the Restless starts airing new episodes?

If Y&R sticks with this Jill and Jack reunion idea, it could be a disaster waiting to happen. The transition from friends back to lovers may not be a simple one. Jack might lose a good pal if things don’t work out! Of course, there’s also the potential for someone else to enter the mix and really complicate what’s in Jack’s heart.

2) Messy Phyllis Summers

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is always landing in some sort of jam – and Jack’s the one person she can consistently rely on for support. Even when Phyllis screws up, Jack’s usually willing to lend an ear and try to guide her down the right path.

Although Jack may not agree with Phyllis’ upcoming decisions, he might wade into the mess and help her anyway.

That brings us back to Jack’s complicated love life. There’s certainly the potential for a Jack and Phyllis reunion at some point. Phyllis’ romance with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is like a ticking time bomb, so it may be Jack who picks up the pieces of his ex’s shattered heart.

It all depends on what direction Y&R writers want to go in on new episodes.

3) Intense Dina grief

Naturally, Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) upcoming death will affect Jack deeply. Jack’s already dreading the loss of his mother, but it should really hit him hard once she’s gone. Coping with intense grief should be a gripping storyline for Jack down the road. It’ll bring some powerful Abbott family drama with Jack at the center of it all.

4) Theo and Kyle issues

Speaking of family drama, Jack may face Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) issues. If Theo starts working for Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) at Chancellor Communications, how will Jack feel about that?

Jack might decide he supports Theo’s second chance, but he may also worry about Billy taking Theo on as a team member.

Jack took a step back from Jabot as he supports Dina through whatever time she last left. Kyle’s mostly running the show now, but he’s young and inexperienced. It’s possible things will go wrong while Jack’s focus is elsewhere, so we could see some Jack and Kyle clashing sooner or later. If Kyle and Theo start feuding again as well, that’ll just add to Jack’s woes!

There may be other issues that pop up along the way, but these seem like the main ones Jack will face when new episodes resume. Are you eager to see a brand-new chapter for Jack? As other Y&R news and updates emerge, we’ll keep you posted.
