One popular soap alum recently shared some exciting news with his fans – though he included a scary admission, too. Tyler Christopher (ex-Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital, ex-Stefan DiMera on Days of Our Lives) has faced some personal struggles over the last few years, but he’s gearing up for a big comeback.
That’s the exciting part! Christopher is returning to California for a fresh start and seems to have a brand-new outlook on life. The former GH and Days star insisted he was eager to get back to work, but he didn’t specify where.
“Coming back to California,” Christopher said on Instagram. “Miss you friends. After a near death experience in December, doesn’t matter. I’m ready to start over again and get back to work. Can’t wait to see you all!”
Of course, Marcus Coloma has taken over the role of Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital. Christopher’s old DOOL role of Stefan DiMera isn’t an option since Stefan has been killed off – and now Brandon Barash is playing Stefan’s long-lost twin brother, Jake Lambert.
That doesn’t mean anyone can rule out Christopher taking on a new role at GH or Days. The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless might have some potential parts for Christopher as well. However, Christopher could just as easily focus on primetime or movies if he’s sticking with acting.
Christopher has battled problems related to alcohol in the past, but he’s rebuilding his life – and everyone deserves another chance! Many soap fans would love to see Christopher make a comeback in the world of daytime dramas, but we’re rooting for his success no matter where he lands next.
Naturally, we should also acknowledge the scary admission Christopher mentioned. Christopher revealed that he had a near-death experience, so we’re certainly glad he’s OK and is turning it into something positive.
General Hospital and Days fans had plenty of encouraging words for Christopher, who looks healthy and determined in the great pic he shared. It’s nice to know Christopher’s ready to take Hollywood by storm again – and we’ll all be looking forward to updates on any project announcements.
