On tonight’s 7 Little Johnstons Season 8 Episode 2 “What’s Cooking, Good Looking,” as per the TLC synopsis, “Trent and Amber meet with an intimacy coach to spice things up, and a cooking competition inspires Alex to improve his culinary skills. Jonah’s girlfriend Ashley visits from Asheville, and Anna teaches new tricks to her main man — the family dog Cruiser.”

Amber decides to have a cookoff, to do it fair, it has to be done outside. The teams are Alex vs Emma, each one of them have a sous chef, Alex has Elizabeth and Emma has Anna. Each team has the pantry staples, along with five mystery ingredients. They have one hour to prep, cook and plate the food to the judges; Trent and Jonah.
The mystery ingredients are: turkey, oyster sauce, ricotta cheese, figs and sardines. Alex and Elizabeth seem to have a game plan right away, Emma and Anna are in the dark. While everyone is cooking, Jonah is taking a nap at the judges table. Trent says he thinks both meals are going to be terrible. Time is up, they step away from their stations.
Emma and Anna made “Etalian” spaghetti with sweet green beans. Jonah spits it out, Trent says it is bad. Alex and Elizabeth made an Italian beef stroganoff, caramelized figs and stir-fried green beans. Trent spits out the green beans, they are too salty. Alex and Elizabeth win.
Ashley, Jonah’s girlfriend is visiting. Jonah is happy she is visiting, they are enjoying their time together. When Ashley is visiting, Jonah is more interactive with the family, more present, he is happier, a fun guy.
Trent and Amber like to spice it up in the bedroom, so Amber found an intimacy coach. They don’t have any problems, but they don’t want it to get to that point. Their coach says they should do some dirty talk. They randomly pick some phrases out of a pile and Trent gets, I want to make you scream. Amber gets, do you want me to wear a tong, panties, or nothing at all? Trent says the first few where PG, then it went to rated R, then down and dirty.
The coach tells them that the exercise was about communication and they did well with that. She goes on to say she is going to give each other tips on sensual massages. They start with doing some hot wax on each other then the coach asks if they would like to look at the toys she has. Trent enjoyed the session, he says it was a bit awkward but the coach played off of their comfort level. Trent jokingly says they are going home to practice.
Alex is motivated by the cookoff, he wants to cook dinner for the family. As the winner of the cookoff, Amber bought him a proper chef outfit and hat. Alex’s meal turns out great, he does fettucine Alfredo and salad. Trent doesn’t eat the pasta and Alex is offended.
Trent and Amber build an agility course for Cruiser, but he won’t have anything to do with it.
Trent comes busting out of the bathroom that is attached to the bedroom, Amber is so surprised, he is wearing a cape and a mask, he also bought red silk sheets and candles. Amber is all giddy with putting the red sheets on the bed, Trent tells her to saddle up. He tells her he has one more thing that he bought, he bought a metronome so they could keep up with it.
After using it a bit Trent says it is very distracting and at 44, he needs all the concentration he can get. He tells Amber he is going to leave it downstairs for the kids and after a few days tell them what it was bought for.
