In tonight’s Chicago PD Fall Finale episode, Detective Halstead was coming back from a brutal meeting with the FBI when he overheard gunshots on his way home. He immediately stopped the car. He called it in and then he followed where the shots were coming from. He found a bus full of people terrified. They said that the driver stopped the vehicle to check on the engine at the back of the bus and that she had closed the doors while she was doing the inspection.

But two men along with a girl forced the doors open. They then shot Joy Clemings twice when she tried to stop them and so right away this didn’t seem like a disgruntled passenger. It seemed bigger. Voight’s team caught this case because of Halstead’s involvement and the fact that the victim died in his hands.

Halstead also found a weird card. He showed this to Joy’s bosses and they said that’s the alert card if the driver suspects human trafficking. There was also footage of the bus. The bus driver noticed the young woman with the two men and she passed her a secret note. This was around the time the two men watching the girl got skittish and they tried to flee but the driver tried to stop them and so they shot her. The team followed the shooters from the bus stop. They tracked them down to a motel room and the motel room had magniusm as well as blood everywhere. The girl that Joy tried to save wasn’t being sold into sex trafficking. She was instead trafficking drugs and the drug dealers got desperate when they couldn’t get it out of her.

The poor woman was later found cut open as well as OD’ing on the drugs in her system. They had medication to help her with the overdose and they eventually questioned Willa. She said one of the men had tried to cut the drugs out of her and that the other guy helped her. She said he was nice. She refused to help them catch the man who helped her and she didn’t have much to say in her own defense. Willa was facing serious jail time. She had swallowed fifty bags of heroin and took it across state lines. She was now facing years in prison but she still wasn’t being cooperative as she could have been. Willa was of no use. Halstead was also busy solving the feds problem because it was his job on the line. His and Upton’s.

The feds wanted Halstead’s help in getting evidence on Voight. Halstead went directly to Voight after he was notified and Voight came up with the man. The agent looking into him has a brother. This brother was an addict and so they set him up. They induced him to buy drugs from cops and he was arrested on the narcotics possession. The brother naturally demanded his one phone call after his arrest, but Voight told him that his brother wasn’t coming and so that the brother talking. He mentioned how his brother the fed had cleaned up after him over the years. Committing obstruction along with several other offences by keeping his addict brother out of prison for all costs.

Voight has enough evidence to bury the investigator that’s making a case against him. But Halstead didn’t feel right with what he did. He admitted it to Upton. He told her about everything and how it could have cost them their lives and so he told he couldn’t risk that. He loves her. He didn’t want her involved in a fight against the feds and Voight. Halstead was slowly losing himself as he did the thing he did, but Voight noticed. Voight noticing he was struggling with what he did. Voight told him that if he has this much of a problem with using the information then he should come forward and turn against Voight. Voight said he’d be fine. He’s been fine before and he thinks he can weather whatever storm coming his way.

The decision was left up to Halstead. Do they blackmail a federal agent or does he turn Voight in? Halstead chose blackmail. He blackmailed North and North got so upset that he said out of everyone he would never have guessed it would be him to turn. Then again North believes this is Voight’s work. Voight had brought Halstead down to his level and so going forward – Halstead told Voight that he couldn’t leave him out in the cold. Not after everything he did. Halstead has earned loyalty and he wants Voight to keep him in the loop.

Halstead later went home to Upton and he proposed to her. The two of them got secretly married and were back home before anyone noticed.

THE END!
