Coroner Recap 09/23/21: Season 3 Episode 6 "No Justice, No Peace"

Tonight on the CW their new character-driven drama Coroner airs with an all-new Thursday, September 23, 2021 episode and we have your Coroner recap below.  In tonight’s Coroner season 3 episode 6 called, “No Justice, No Peace,” as per the CW synopsis, “A night of partying lands Ross (Ehren Kassam) in the middle of a murder investigation, and Jenny (Serinda Swan) is forced to sit on the sidelines.”

In tonight’s Coroner episode, Matteo and Ross dance at a rave. They appear to be on drugs, dancing for hours. Later, Ross is sitting cross-legged in front of a guy who is dead on the floor, covered in blood.

Jenny Facetimes with a prisoner who has been accused of killing a woman. He doesn’t remember committing the crime but confessed. Jenny and Donovan are called to a scene. Jenny arrives at a mini-mansion. She sees the male who she needs to examine. He has holes in his chest. His name is Joshua. He is the owner of the house. Jenny says a quiet prayer.

Detective West interviews Ross across the house. He has blood on his cuff and a weapon in his coat. West takes him in. He pleads. His mom is the coroner. West doesn’t care. He brings him in. They fingerprint him, collect evidence, and then question him. Ross tells West he found Joshua like that. He tried to do CPR.

Jenny is notified of Ross being in custody. Donovan also discovers the news of Ross’ arrest from West. Ross meets with his lawyer. He shares that he didn’t do it. Donovan visits with Ross who swears he didn’t do anything. Donovan keeps a business tone. Ross wants to make a statement without his lawyer. He tells Donovan he went to the party. Gunshots erupted. He went into the room and that’s when he found Joshua. The rest is a blur.

Jenny arrives to see Ross’ but she is told she cannot see him. Donovan tells her he cannot tell her much but she needs to hire a better lawyer. Jenny scrambles to find a lawyer. Ross paces inside the jail. Jenny starts to panic. She doesn’t know what to do.

Donovan sits with Ross. They go through the evidence. Ross was wearing Joshua’s watch when he was booked.

Jenny meets again with the prisoner on Facetime. Meanwhile, one of Jenny’s friends, a crown attorney, meets with Ross. He tells Ross he needs to dig himself out. He needs to think about the details of what he knows. Jenny looks at the chest x-ray of the victim the prisoner he is accused of killing. Her spine is not broken at all.

Jenny is invited to Joshua’s autopsy. She tells them she cannot go. They don’t understand why. Jenny starts to cry. She tells them her son has been charged in this case.

Ross meets with Donovan. Ross tells him he is being told what happened and none of it is true. He can explain how he felt. Jenny is told the victim had water in his stomach. She calls Donovan from her co-worker’s phone. Ross continues to explain that he was stressed, he took drugs, and was high. He found the watch in the grass outside, neat the hot tub. It was wet. He then made a friend. They wanted privacy but the nearby bedroom was locked. That’s when the gunshots happened. He was pushed into the bedroom by a guy with a neck tattoo. Donovan gets a text. The body was moved.

Donovan is told by his partner that at the crime scene a bbq skewer was found in the hot tub that was also drained. The body was then moved to the bedroom with the door locked. The party went on. The partygoers contaminated the crime scene. Donovan tells Ross he is free but needs to ID the suspect.

Jenny wraps up her case with the prisoner. It was his CTE that made him confess. Jenny gets the call Ross is free. Later, Donovan and Ross sit and talk. They talk about the broken system, racism, and more. Donovan tells him to find power and joy in his identity and not think of his mixed-race as a burden. That’s when they win.

Ross and Jenny talk after he gets home. He misses his dad. He makes a traditional family meal. He wants to be alone and cook.
