Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Evan Frears aka Christian Maddox (Brock Kelly) will pitch in on Orpheus’ (George DelHoyo) latest plot. DOOL fans know Evan often gets caught up in his father’s messes – like when Orpheus convinced his son to help him drug and kidnap Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) from the Kiriakis mansion.
Orpheus was after ransom money from Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) at the time, so that could be one motive for taking over Vincent Belman’s (Michael Teh) hostage scheme.
Victor would drain every cent in his bank account if it meant getting his granddaughter, Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal), back home safe and sound.
Orpheus might also be feeling a bit vengeful since Ciara blew up Evan’s life. It was Evan’s own fault for murdering Jordan Ridgeway (Chrishell Stause), but Ciara still figured it out and forced Evan to confess so Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) could avoid execution.
Regardless, Orpheus will deliver specific instructions to Evan and expect his son to follow them exactly. Evan knocked his father out and made his getaway the last time we saw him, but it seems Orpheus is over that betrayal. Orpheus needs Evan to help with Ciara, so he can’t afford to hold grudges right now.
While Orpheus is still behind bars, Days spoilers say on-the-run Evan will resurface. It seems Evan will take over Rhodes’ (Jason Downs) role in watching over Ciara, but he’ll likely have to move her to another location to avoid Ben’s bust with Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer).
The interesting part of all this is no one knows Evan’s current mental state. Evan has moments when he can be ruthless and impulsive – like when he strangled his ex-lover and “baby mama,” Jordan. There’s clearly a dangerous side to Evan with a father like Orpheus!
However, Evan has a softer side as well. We saw that when Evan agreed to help Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) for Henry Horton’s (Jayna and Kinsley) sake during the blackout. Evan made progress at Bayview, but he’s obviously not well if he chose his freedom over more treatment.
That’s why the stakes will be awfully high during the week of February 22-26. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Evan will go rogue and ignore Orpheus’ wishes. This is the kind of thing that could either help Ciara or hurt her big time.
It’s possible Ciara will manipulate Evan into letting her go free. Ciara may convince Evan that he can be a better man than his father if he just stands up for himself and makes his own decisions.
Naturally, that might be the perfect moment for Orpheus to show up at the new location after another prison break. Even a phone call might work here. Orpheus could scold Evan for nearly blowing everything and put the plot back on track.
On the other hand, Evan’s dark side might come out again and leave him blaming Ciara for his circumstances. Orpheus may order Evan to keep Ciara alive for the time being, but Evan might be tempted to throw that rule out the window and just shoot Ciara on the spot.
That’d be another situation where Orpheus could stop Evan in the nick of time and offer a ransom money reminder. Victor is going to want proof of Ciara’s survival if they expect him to pay anything. Regardless of how this plays out, Evan is a wildcard and that means Ciara will be in danger!
