Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Friday, April 16 Recap – Jan Says Charlie’s Killer Deserves Medal – John's Red Coat Murder Memory

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for Friday, April 16, reveals that Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) showed up at the pub, where Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) was sitting with Roman Brady (Josh Taylor).

Tripp greeted Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley) in his stroller and ordered up chowder as well as apple pie to take home to Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans).

Allie was apologetic about her appearance since Henry was still teething and she only got an hour of sleep last night, but Tripp thought Allie looked great.

While Roman was getting the to-go order ready, Tripp opened up to Allie about not getting much sleep either. He was up late studying and worried his rounds at the hospital might be delayed again.

Allie realized she was the reason Tripp’s rounds had been delayed the first time and was so sorry about all the trouble she caused for him. However, Tripp insisted he’d be fine with never bringing the past up again.

Tripp convinced Allie to start with a clean slate and asked questions about her own future, which was uncertain of. Allie didn’t feel like she’d accomplished anything, but Tripp strongly disagreed and gave a look toward Henry’s stroller.

Allie still wanted to stop freeloading at Nicole Brady’s (Arianne Zucker) place and get a job, so Tripp offered to watch Henry if Allie needed to go on an interview or something. He reminded Allie that he wanted to be part of Henry’s life.

Henry started fussing, so Tripp picked him up from his stroller and immediately got spit up on. Allie left and suggested they should get Tripp’s gross shirt off him. She started unbuttoning as they laughed – and Roman walked up looking like he knew he’d interrupted a flirty moment.

Tripp buttoned back up and assured Allie that he could deal with the shirt back home. After Henry tossed his pacifier from the stroller, Tripp and Allie reached for it at the same time. They locked eyes and touched hands as DOOL fans witnessed their spark.

At the police station on Friday’s Days episode, DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) sauntered in and pointed out Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) had crossed everyone off on the suspect board.

Trask implied that Rafe was too close to the case and was giving them a pass without proof of their innocence. Rafe thought Trask had that backwards since everyone was innocent until proven guilty.

After Rafe went over why he believed each person hadn’t committed the crime, Trask seemed to believe him. That still left them without a suspect. Rafe admitted there was a red button in evidence that was found next to Charlie Dale’s (Mike Manning) body.

That button came from a female’s coat and didn’t belong to any of the female suspects they’d cleared. Trask felt like this could be the key to finding the killer.

Meanwhile, Belle Brady (Martha Madison) told Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) that he couldn’t arrest Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) due to the deal she made with her. Shawn was upset that Belle hadn’t given him a heads-up, but he knew it was because he would’ve tried to talk her out of it.

Shawn threatened to go against the deal and arrest Jan anyway since he was concerned for their family, especially Claire Brady (Isabel Durant). Belle didn’t think Jan would hurt Claire since she thought they were friends, but Shawn insisted that Jan was a master manipulator.

In Jan’s hospital room on Friday’s Days episode, Claire arrived to return the healing crystal and chew Claire out. Jan grabbed Claire briefly, but she ultimately apologized – and that went for all her latest mistakes, too.

Jan claimed she’d changed due to her coma, but Claire pointed out Jan was previously in a much longer one and it didn’t change anything.

Claire scoffed when Jan hoped they could be friends again, but Jan whined about how she was all alone with no one who cared she was awake.

Jan brought up Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) and realized Ciara was judging Claire over the past. Jan insisted she’d never do that and tried to make Claire understand how similar they were.

When Claire still put up a fight, Jan guessed Claire was too busy with her perfect boyfriend now. Claire brought Jan up to speed on Charlie being a rapist and admitted he’d been murdered.

Jan acted shocked and revealed she was raped when she was about Allie’s age – and the news got an emotional reaction from Claire.

Jan said she wasn’t trying to offer excuses for her mistakes, but she had never been the same person due to that experience. She didn’t think Charlie deserved to live. “If you ask me, whoever killed that sick, disgusting monster should get a medal!” Jan exclaimed.

Jan kept pushing for friendship and offered to take Claire out to dinner if she didn’t mind Buddy’s Burger Barn. Claire wondered what Jan was talking about and assumed Jan was headed to prison, but Jan insisted she was a free woman.

Back with Belle, she took off her coat and argued with Shawn at the Salem PD. Rafe eventually joined them and found out about the deal Belle made with Jan. As Belle went to put her coat on again, she reached for the spot where the missing button was.

Rafe showed off the button in the evidence bag and admitted it came from the scene of Charlie’s murder.

At the townhouse, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) lashed out when Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) offered updates on the deal Belle made with Jan. Talk eventually turned to the night Charlie was killed, so John pushed Marlena to hypnotize him.

Once Marlena finally agreed on Friday’s Days of Our Lives episode, she took John to the office and thought they should do this off the record. John insisted it should be recorded for evidence and didn’t want any special treatment.

After Marlena put John under, he recalled walking up to Charlie’s apartment and hearing Charlie tell someone not to shoot. John was horrified as he remembered the shooter wearing a red coat and seemingly thought Belle was the killer.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say John’s got it wrong since someone besides Belle will be revealed as the killer soon enough! CDL will have all the sizzling Days of Our Lives spoilers, updates and news you need, so make us your DOOL hotspot.
