Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Friday, April 2 Recap – Charlie’s Last Wish - Jan Threatens John – Time of Death Clears Sami

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, April 2, reveals that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) returned to Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) in the interrogation room.

Sami was disappointed to learn DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) wouldn’t budge on the confession. DA Trask wasn’t willing to throw it out and was insisting on charging Sami with murder.

Sami was apologetic about the mess she’d made, but she felt Rafe had to figure out who really killed Charlie and get her out of there. Rafe thought the better tactic would be proving Sami didn’t do it, so he started looking at the evidence.

According to the autopsy, the first bullet hit Charlie in the heart – that was the shot fired by the killer. The second bullet was from Sami and hit Charlie near the lung.

Sami thought that should prove her story, but Rafe said Trask asked how he could be sure the bullets weren’t both fired by Sami. Rafe wondered what time Sami’s flight from Italy came in, so she admitted she arrived at 5:00 a.m.

After Rafe looked at the time of death, he realized it was sometime between midnight and 3:00 a.m. Sami excitedly lunged at Rafe to hug him for clearing her, but Rafe pointed out he still had to get this approved by Trask.

Later, Rafe returned to reveal that the murder charge was dropped – though Sami could still be charged for lying to the cops and whatever else Trask had in mind. For now, Sami was free to go and was absolutely thrilled.

At Rafe’s place on Friday’s Days episode, Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) told Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) that he believed in Sami and Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) innocence. Ava suggested that meant the killer was still out there, so Tripp looked a bit guilty and said he guessed so.

After Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) arrived, she mentioned Allie was having some trouble with Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley) since he was still teething.

Tripp decided to go over and help, so he left Nicole and Ava to talk. Nicole apologized for practically accusing Ava of killing her son during their last conversation.

However, Ava admitted she did go to Charlie’s apartment that night – and he was still alive when she got there. Days showed a flashback of Ava finding Charlie near death on the floor following his gunshot wound.

Although Ava started to call an ambulance, Charlie stopped her and told his mom that he loved her. Charlie cried as he begged Ava to say it back just this once. Ava said of course she loved Charlie and then he died in her arms.

Ava was emotional as she confessed all this to Nicole, who thought the important thing was Ava gave Charlie a final moment of comfort. Ava talked about how she hesitated to say she loved Charlie – and that she wasn’t sure she meant it.

Ava just left dead Charlie alone, so Nicole asked why Ava didn’t tell any of this to the cops. Ava admitted she saw Tripp leaving when she first arrived at the apartment.

At Nicole’s place on Friday’s Days of Our Lives episode, Tripp showed up and talked to Allie about Sami’s situation. Allie opened up about her frustration since all her teething tricks weren’t working with Henry.

Tripp insisted Allie was a great mom, so she wondered how he could be so nice after everything she did to him.

After Tripp placed his hand on Allie’s, he assured her that she just made a mistake and was only human. Tripp ended up making a comment about how they shouldn’t blame themselves for the things Charlie made them do.

Allie didn’t understand what Tripp possibly could’ve done, so he said it was nothing concrete. Tripp claimed he felt bad because Charlie never had any kind of family love to rely on.

Allie didn’t think Tripp should hold himself responsible for that and argued that Tripp had every right to hate Charlie. Tripp called Allie amazing for worrying about him as well as his mom, especially since she must be worried sick about her own.

Allie was glad to be spending time with someone who wanted the truth to come out as much as she did.

At the townhouse, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) discussed how Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) was waking up from her coma. John ranted about all the wedding drama that led to his strangling attempt.

Talk turned to Charlie, so John admitted he was riled up and wanted to strangle him, too.

Marlena thought maybe it was good news that John blacked out since it meant he didn’t go inside. John confessed that he wasn’t so sure about that.

Marlena was confused since John blacked out in the car and then came to in the car. John admitted there was something he left out and told Marlena about the gunshot he heard.

At the hospital, Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) was eager to arrest Jan and assured Belle Brady (Martha Madison) that their nightmare was over.

Dr. Snyder (Michael Lowry) appeared and offered updates on Jan’s condition. Belle wondered if there was any sign of brain trauma, Dr. Snyder suggested Jan was alert, lucid and seemed to be her usual self.

Shawn flashed his badge and needed to speak with Jan about official police business, so Dr. Snyder allowed it. Belle insisted on tagging along, so they wound up in Jan’s room.

Jan started happily asking questions about what the wedding was like and seemed to think she was still friends with Claire Brady (Isabel Durant).

Jan wondered if Charlie came to the wedding and gave herself a pat on the back for her matchmaking skills. Shawn and Belle didn’t buy Jan’s amnesia act.

Belle ranted about Jan holding her at gunpoint – and Shawn noted that a room full of people saw Jan try to force him into marriage. Jan said it was all coming back to her now and commented on the good times.

Shawn was ready to make an arrest, but Jan told him to wait since she recalled John trying to strangle her. Jan warned that if she was going down, then John was going down, too.

Back with Allie on Friday’s DOOL episode, she told Tripp that Rafe wouldn’t give up until he proved the truth. There was nothing more important to Rafe than justice. Tripp seemed anxious as he admitted he had something to tell Allie.
