Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, November 19, reveals that the real Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) answered Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) call while Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) slapped Paulina Price (Jackée Harry). Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) also got a bedroom reward for his support of Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens), so here’s how all the DOOL action went down.
In the town square on Friday’s Days episode, Lani slapped Paulina over the biological daughter secret she’d been keeping.
Lani felt like her whole family had been wiped out in one fell swoop, but she allowed Paulina to tell her side of the story.
Paulina insisted Lani’s father was an abusive, dangerous man named Ray. She gave birth with the help of a midwife at home since a hospital was too risky and didn’t want to give Lani up once she met her.
However, Olivia Price (Marla Gibbs) convinced Paulina to stick to the plan, so she gave Lani up and allowed Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo) to raise her.
Paulina confessed that she kept a lock of Lani’s hair, which she revealed was in her locket. She always wanted to be a mother to Lani and knew she’d made mistakes by wanting something she couldn’t have.
Lani made it clear that Paulina wasn’t her mother and never would be before she stormed off.
Meanwhile, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) got a pep talk from Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), who offered reassurance about Abe still being a family with Lani and Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson).
At Lani and Eli Grant’s (Lamon Archey) apartment, Theo said he’d understand if Eli wanted to pick a new godfather for Jules Carver. Eli insisted Theo was the best godfather he could possibly choose and assured Theo no changes would be made.
Theo opened up about how Lani stood up for him like a good big sister should.
Theo also grew worried about Abe and decided to check on him, so that led to Theo and Abe’s somber embrace in the pub later. Lani also came home for a hug with Eli as she continued to process the day’s shocking events.
In the DiMera crypt, possessed Marlena let Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) bolt from the crypt – just to give her a little hope to crush.
Susan made it up to a side door at the DiMera mansion, where she called out to EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Johnny.
After Johnny heard his name, he rushed over to see what was happening. Susan was already gone by then – and Days fans soon saw that she was back in the form of a black cat in Marlena’s arms.
In the crypt, the devil left Marlena’s body and made sure she was chained to the wall.
The devil then took on the form of Eileen Davidson’s Kristen DiMera again. Kristen did her best to seduce John by reminding him of the first time they made love. She insisted John still wanted her and removed his belt before putting her knee against his crotch.
Kristen urged John to take her right there with all her dead relatives watching! Back with Marlena, she saw her phone on the floor nearby and managed to drag it over with her foot.
A call came in from an unknown number, so Marlena answered. Elsewhere, Sami was looking rough in captivity, but she was ecstatic over her mother picking up.
Back inside the DiMera mansion, Chanel admitted to Johnny that she found out a secret from Marlena and used it to destroy Paulina’s wedding.
Johnny reeled over the news that Lani was actually Chanel’s sister. He was equally stunned to learn Marlena had broken doctor-patient confidentiality by revealing what Paulina shared with her.
Chanel confessed that Marlena didn’t want her to spill, but she felt compelled to do so anyway.
It was like Marlena was looking in Chanel’s soul, so she got up and dropped the mother-daughter bomb.
Johnny was understanding about everything and thought Chanel was perfect despite being down on herself.
After Johnny said he was crazy about Chanel and suggested he only wanted to make her happy, they shared a sizzling kiss.
Chanel thought they should take things to the bedroom, so Johnny asked if she was sure. They soon made their way upstairs and hit the sheets in a passionate scene together.
