Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers update for Friday, October 22, teases that dying Abe Carver (James Reynolds) will fade fast while John Black (Drake Hogestyn) stops violent Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) will also interrogate Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash), so here’s what DOOL has in store.
Carmine Merlino (Richard Stevens) just fired a shot at Abe, which hit him near the heart and left him in shock.
A bloody Abe will collapse on Friday’s Days episode, so Jake will race over and bend down to help him. It seems Carmine will use the chaos he created as a distraction and make a quick getaway.
Jake will be the one who has to call for paramedics and answer police questions soon enough. While Abe lands at the hospital, Rafe will force Jake into police custody and grill him at the police station.
That’ll put Jake in a tricky situation since Jake will want to know who this Carmine guy is and how Abe ended up being the one to take a bullet.
Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) will find out Jake’s been arrested, so she’ll rush to the Salem PD to see what’s going on.
You can bet Gabi will scold Rafe for treating Jake like a criminal. She might point the finger at Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) as the reason this whole mess started.
Jake may also face Gabi’s fury since he shouldn’t have taken such a huge risk. At the same time, Gabi will probably be touched that Jake would put so much on the line to save her company.
At the hospital, John will keep listening to Doug Williams’ (Bill Hayes) therapy tape.
The devil spoke through possessed Doug during that session, but will John be able to hear the proof? Things might get somewhat distorted since we know how tricky the devil can be.
Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) will also notice that John’s broken in Marlena’s office, so she may intervene before he hears exactly what he needs to.
Of course, Abe’s medical crisis will steal Kayla and John’s attention before long. Kayla will take the lead on saving Abe’s life – and that’ll leave John to head for St. Luke’s.
In the meantime, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) will have another showdown with Marlena, who’ll arrive at Bayview with cold eyes.
Julie just won’t understand why Marlena’s being so cruel when it comes to this ban on Doug Williams’ (Bill Hayes) visits.
It appears Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) will get updates on Abe’s shooting before he can escort Julie in Doug’s room.
Eli will head for the hospital ASAP so he can console Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) and Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) while they wait to learn more.
As for Julie, she’ll want to say some prayers at the church. Days spoilers say Marlena will be hot on Julie’s trail as she works to silence her permanently.
Before Marlena can shove Julie in the holy water basin and drown her, John will show up. He’ll manage to get rid of Julie and confront Marlena on his own about her wicked behavior.
John will revisit his possession accusations before the devil gains the upper hand in this heated battle.
Abe’s heart will also stop as Kayla works on him in the hospital, so there’ll be some great cliffhanger material to set up the next Days episode.
