Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Friday, October 8 Recap – Jake Reveals True Killer – Devil Hijacks Ben’s Therapy Session

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, October 8, teases that Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) revealed the eyewitness was the true killer – though Jake battled guilt for not being able to stop his partner in crime. Meanwhile, the devil hijacked Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) therapy session, so here’s how the DOOL drama played out on Friday’s Days episode.

At the townhouse, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) seemed tired and out of it as she checked out a news story about Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) walloping his wife in the head. When the devil reminded Marlena of all the great work they could do together, she cried out and tossed the tablet down.

John Black (Drake Hogestyn) rushed in and wondered what was wrong, so Marlena acted like it was the news story that bothered her. John knew it must’ve been hard for Marlena to make the decision to have Doug committed to Bayview, but he suggested it was the only choice since Doug was a danger to himself and others.

At home, Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) reassured Ben that no matter how things went with Marlena, they would handle whatever came their way. Ben called Marlena, who suggested she could meet with Ben in her office right away. John objected since “Doc” hadn’t been feeling well, but Marlena wanted to help Ben since she couldn’t help Doug.

Once Ben made it to Marlena’s office later, he gave his approval for the session to be recorded. Marlena seemed distracted, but she eventually turned her attention to Ben and his fears about having a baby.

Ben talked about the demons of his past as well as his troubling family history. He feared his mental illness could be hereditary and revealed the dream he had about his necktie killer son. Ben didn’t know if he could risk bringing another soul into the world that might be capable of evil.

Marlena pointed out that Ben’s fears were understandable and added that every child had a right to be loved without reservation. The more they talked, the more Ben was convinced having a baby wasn’t the right thing to do. He couldn’t risk a child suffering the same fate and didn’t want to stand over the crib waiting for something bad to happen.

Ben thanked Marlena and started to leave, but the devil spoke to Marlena through the tape recorder on the desk. He was adamant that Marlena needed to convince Ben and his wife that they must have this baby.

At the Horton house on Friday’s Days episode, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) opened up to Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) about everything that had gone down with Doug. After Ciara got updates on Doug over the phone, she rushed right over and helped Maggie offer comfort.

After Maggie left, Julie encouraged Ciara to distract her by talking about her own life. Ciara admitted she’d started talking about having a baby with Ben – though she was a little more ready for a family than he was. Ciara talked about Ben having some issues to work through, but there was no one she trusted more than Marlena to help him.

Back at the townhouse, John talked to Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) about Doug’s claims that Marlena attacked Julie and tried to kill him. Next, Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) returned home after witnessing Brady and Chloe Lane’s (Nadia Bjorlin) embrace near the sapling that’d been planted.

Philip ranted over the phone and wanted the gardener to bring him a saw. He thought back to the previous tree he took an ax to and muttered about this one being easier to cut down.

When Chloe came in, Philip suggested going to water their tree. Chloe was taken aback and tried to go along with the idea, but Philip noted there was a danger in overwatering. He eventually said he’d save Chloe the trouble of lying since he just saw her at the tree site with Brady.

Philip angrily asked if Chloe and Brady slept together on the fresh mound, but Chloe wondered if Philip heard himself right now. She explained that it was her idea to water the tree and that she went there with Brady and Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) after their trip to the pumpkin patch.

Chloe insisted that she told Rachel the story behind the tree and added that Brady said he’d back off their romance. However, now Chloe could see that Philip wasn’t over his crazy jealousy. Chloe argued that Philip’s dangerous obsession had gotten worse and objected to him spying.

When Maggie arrived, she wondered what was going on here. Chloe argued that Philip was trying to destroy any chance of their relationship working out. She said she was done and that she was sick of Philip not trusting her.

As Chloe stormed out, Philip yelled that he never said he didn’t trust her. Maggie thought it seemed like he didn’t, but Philip refused to sit still while Brady stole Chloe away again.

Since Jake wanted to discuss the mob drama in private, he headed home with Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus). Jake and Gabi discussed how Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) must’ve fed Philip information for his blackmail scheme – including details on an eyewitness named Carmine.

Jake knew the name, but he explained that Carmine worked with him and wasn’t a witness. Although Jake didn’t kill Jake, he told Gabi he was far from innocent. Jake and Carmine roughed Jed Zanetti up one day, but Carmine wouldn’t stop. Jed started coughing up blood and died right in front of Jake, who got choked up over not being able to prevent his death.

Gabi pointed out that it was Jake’s word against Carmine’s, but Jake worried he could take the fall for a murder he didn’t commit or at least be charged as an accessory after the fact. As for the Gabi Chic situation, Gabi refused to lose Jake and insisted she’d made her choice. Even if Gabi lost the company, she’d still have Jake.

Jake argued that Gabi had built that company from nothing and added that he wouldn’t let anybody take it away. He wanted to find another way to handle Philip so Gabi could keep control of Gabi Chic.

We’ll keep you posted as other Days info comes in. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Gabi and Philip will do whatever they can to gain the upper hand, so stay tuned to DOOL. CDL’s where you want to be for fantastic Days of Our Lives spoilers, news and updates to read up on, so stop by often.
