Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, December 27, reveals that Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) sobbed over Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) plea for help – and Chanel DiMera (Raven Bowens) had a sister-in-law bomb for Allie (Lindsay Arnold). Let’s talk about how all Monday’s DOOL drama went down.
At Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) apartment, Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) let Allie know he was feeling pretty good for a guy who just got out of a coma.
Allie and Tripp were eager to enjoy Christmas with Henry Horton (Nash and Clyde Gunderson), who was excited over the pancakes they were about to make.
After Chanel and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) shared some lovey-dovey moments in bed, they headed over to break the marriage news to Allie.
Although Chanel hesitated outside the door, Johnny felt like Allie had to find out sooner or later and talked his new wife into spilling their secret now.
Soon enough, Johnny and Chanel were flashing their wedding rings in front of Allie and Tripp. Chanel pointed out that they were sisters-in-law now and felt like Allie should be happy for her.
Instead, Allie argued that Chanel just made the biggest mistake of her entire life.
Allie felt like Johnny was doing the same old Italy romance routine – except he went the extra mile by marrying the girl this time.
Allie basically acted like Chanel was doomed to get her heart broken, but Chanel defended her marriage along with Johnny.
In the end, Johnny suspected that Allie was jealous and wanted Chanel all to herself!
At the townhouse on Monday’s Days episode, the devil warned John Black (Drake Hogestyn) that his “precious Marlena” was lost to him.
Possessed Marlena argued that John wasn’t even a real priest and laughed over him beginning his exorcism effort.
Nevertheless, John read scripture and threw holy water that sizzled on Marlena’s body.
Sami overheard Marlena screaming and wanted to help her mom, but she ultimately understood she couldn’t.
John reminded Sami that wasn’t the real Marlena talking and explained that this exorcism was their best shot at getting her mother back.
Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) also showed up and wanted to talk about EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) being arrested for Sami’s kidnapping.
Sami was mostly focused on Marlena, who eventually shut the door on Lucas to threaten him.
Marlena warned that she knew what a “little bad boy” Lucas was.
Lucas was shocked to learn the devil planted the kidnapping idea in his head – though Marlena clarified that Lucas did the rest by surrendering to temptation. The devil didn’t really make Lucas do it.
Even so, Marlena vowed to tell Sami the truth unless Lucas untied her.
Marlena eventually convinced Lucas to undo one restraint, but Sami caught her ex in the act and wondered “what the hell” he was doing.
Lucas claimed he was trying to tighten the restraints up so Marlena wouldn’t get loose, but Marlena fired back that he was lying about everything!
Meanwhile, Nicole visited EJ in the Salem PD interrogation room and asked if he really kidnapped Sami. EJ denied it and put Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) as the top of his suspect list for setting him up.
Nicole didn’t buy it and brought up the fact that Lucas loathed EJ just as much if they were talking about EJ’s haters.
EJ began to suspect Lucas might’ve framed him, but Nicole didn’t think Lucas was the kidnapping type – though EJ at least convinced her he truly didn’t order the kidnapping himself.
In the town square, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) ran into Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and mentioned Chanel marrying into the DiMera family.
Paulina didn’t think it could be all bad since Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) was part of it, so Abe admitted that every family has its problems.
After visiting Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) with the twins, Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) and Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) arrived in the town square.
Lani ignored Paulina until her birth mom got her attention with Chanel’s new marriage shocker.
Paulina also offered a Christmas gift of old family photo kaleidoscopes for her grandbabies, so Eli urged Lani to accept them. Lani caved in and reluctantly offered Paulina her gratitude.
Back at the townhouse on Monday’s Days episode, John prayed for a sign that Marlena’s soul would be saved for a second time.
Moments later, John opened the door to find Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) had returned to Salem.
