Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, October 11, reveals that Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) panicked over the devil’s plans for Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) baby while Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) faced some tricky role play. Here’s how all the DOOL drama played out.
In the town square, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) told Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) that she was part of a surprise engagement the other night.
Allie freaked after assuming Chanel and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) got engaged, but Chanel explained that it was actually Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) and Abe Carver (James Reynolds).
At the DiMera mansion on Monday’s Days episode, Johnny dropped off the new script to Abigail. He admitted he’d been up all night working on the rewrite and suggested the devil was his muse.
Johnny wanted Abigail and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) to be brutally honest with their feedback since this was a collaborative film.
While Abigail started reading her copy of Possessed: The Marlena Evans Story, Johnny found Chanel and Allie in the middle of a conversation about his attempt to woo Chanel.
Allie thought Johnny’s moves were cringey and corny, but Chanel seemed impressed – especially when Johnny offered a box of her favorite chocolate-covered mixed nuts.
Talk turned to the movie since Johnny still needed Allie to play their mom. It wasn’t The Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) story anymore, but Sami still had some pivotal scenes.
It took some convincing from both Johnny and Chanel, but Allie finally got on board – though she hoped this wouldn’t come back to haunt them.
Back at the DiMera mansion, Chad joined Abigail and assured her that EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) temper tantrum hadn’t changed his mind about investing in Johnny’s film.
Abigail was glad since it’d break Johnny’s heart and perhaps her heart, too.
Chad could tell that Abigail was really excited about the project, but Abigail just hoped she could do justice to Marlena’s experience.
After Chad offered to run lines with Abigail as John Black (Drake Hogestyn), they read through some intense scenes together – including one where John asked Marlena what she was running away from.
Abigail suggested that was enough for today, so Chad assumed the content was hitting a little too close to home.
After Abigail eventually decided they could continue, they made it to a scene where Marlena and John were supposed to kiss.
That lead to Chad and Abigail looking at each other on the verge of a genuinely passionate moment.
In Marlena’s office on Monday’s Days episode, the devil spoke on the tape recorder and warned there’d be a steep price to pay if she didn’t convince Ben to have a baby with his wife.
Marlena stopped Ben, who could tell she seemed off and thought she should get some rest.
Marlena once again stopped Ben from leaving and insisted it’d be a terrible mistake to tell Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) they couldn’t have a child.
Marlena argued that the odds of Ben passing on his mental illness were quite low and that all parents have traits they don’t want to pass down.
Marlena also pointed out Ben could be vigilant about monitoring his child and would get him or her help if necessary. She said there was a big difference between healthy fear and unhealthy avoidance.
Marlena hinted that Ciara could resent Ben if he denied her the chance to be a mother. She then pushed Ben to go home and try to make a baby with Ciara.
Ben didn’t think this sounded like Marlena at all since she never tells him what to do and always just asks questions to lead him to his own answers.
However, Marlena said she didn’t want Ben heading down the wrong path since he’d worked so hard to be with Ciara. She asked if that clarified anything, so Ben suggested it actually did and thanked Marlena before he left.
Once Ben was gone, the devil praised Marlena for doing a good job. He insisted he knew Marlena could do it, but she was horrified when the devil laughed about the “big plans” he had for Ben’s baby.
Meanwhile, Ciara continued giving Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) a pep talk and got one in return regarding her hope to start a family with Ben.
Ciara noted that she’d respect Ben’s decision either way and added that she didn’t want to pressure him.
Later, Ben found Ciara at home and told her if she wanted to have a baby, then they should have a baby.
As for Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), he served Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) some chowder at the pub and got updates on Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) being committed to Bayview.
Kayla was alarmed over how fast Doug had declined and hated that he was in such distress. J
ohn ran into Kayla as she was leaving and then joined Roman by the bar. After Roman confirmed he was investing in Johnny’s movie, John urged him to pull his funding and mentioned his concerns.
Roman eventually realized John was worried that they were opening the town back up to the devil.
When Allie came in, she wound up revealing that the script had been changed. John was even more upset when she realized Marlena’s possession was now the focus of the flick.
