Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, October 18, reveals that Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) made a deal to trade Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) for Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) and Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) – at least if Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) can do his job! Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) also became one with the devil, so here’s how it all went down on Monday’s Days episode.
At the townhouse, Marlena assured Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) that she thought his movie was a wonderful idea and urged him to make it.
Johnny tried to question Marlena’s decision, but she argued that he should take what he wanted and run with it. Marlena just asked Johnny to promise them front-row seats at the premiere.
After Johnny offered a hug of gratitude and went on his way, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) demanded to know “what the hell” had gotten into Marlena.
John didn’t think this was the right call at all, but Marlena said she was tired of everyone waiting until she left the room to whisper about the possession.
Marlena added that her loved ones try to pretend the possession didn’t even happen.
Marlena suggested they were treating the most devastating part of her life like a dirty little secret. Marlena was ready to put everything out there with this movie and made it clear that her decision was final.
At the Horton house, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) told Steve how worried he was about Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes).
Once Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) joined them, Jack said wasn’t sure about Marlena’s decision to have Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) committed.
The conversation then shifted to Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) and how frustrated Jack was over the situation she put herself in.
After Jack pointed out that the judge was going to throw the book at Gwen and Justin, Steve defended Justin for doing what he did out of love for Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans).
Behind bars on Monday’s DOOL episode, Gwen said “bite me” when Bonnie tried to lay down the ground rules for being cellmates.
Bonnie found out Gwen tried to solicit a judge, but she didn’t realize Justin had been arrested.
Gwen had to break the news, which caused Bonnie to burst into tears.
Bonnie felt like everyone was right about her being poison to Justin since he did something illegal for her.
In their own shared cell, Justin said he only had himself to blame for getting caught up in this mess.
Xander still felt bad for roping Justin into the scheme and wanted to take Justin under his wing. He intended to show Justin how to survive prison life since Justin was looking at a minimum of five years.
After Justin brought up Gwen being a prostitute, Xander admitted that wasn’t really what Dr. Clay Snyder (Michael Lowry) had on her. He refused to tell Justin what Gwen’s actual secret was, but Justin agreed not to tell Jack about the lie since it wasn’t relevant to their case.
Plus, Justin needed a guy like Xander on his side if they wound up at Statesville.
At the Kiriakis mansion on Monday’s Days episode, Victor greeted DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) after summoning her.
DA Trask warned against a bribe, but Victor argued that he was just trying to close a deal. He wanted to save his nephews, who had been corrupted by two bad women.
DA Trask wondered what was in it for her if she let Xander and Justin walk. She needed something big to make it worth her while, so Victor implied that he knew what she wanted and was way ahead of her.
After DA Trask left, Victor summoned Steve next and put him to work finding “the she-devil” Kristen DiMera. It sounds like Trask would rather fry a much bigger fish like Kristen than Justin and Xander!
Back with DA Trask, she taunted Bonnie and Gwen in their cell. DA Trask also let Justin and Victor know that if Uncle Victor came through, they just might be off the hook.
As for Kayla, she got a call that unsettled her and showed up at the townhouse. Kayla told John that Doug was heavily sedated and still under a very strict no-visitor order.
It was confusing to Kayla since Bayview didn’t have a problem with Doug having visitors. It was Marlena who extended the no-visitor order.
John confessed that Marlena hadn’t been making great decisions lately and didn’t seem to be herself.
In Marlena’s bedroom, the devil spoke through the white sound machine and insisted it was time to unite.
There were old possession flashbacks as the lights flickered and the wind blew through. Fully possessed Marlena finally declared that she was one with the devil and laughed maniacally with glowing eyes.
