Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Eric Brady’s (Greg Vaughan) unilateral decision could cost him his marriage to Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker). There’s obviously some major character destruction going on since Greg Vaughan left the show.
Since Days doesn’t seem to have any desire to recast Eric at this point, they have to find ways to inch Nicole in another romantic direction.
That’s already happening through Nicole and Rafe Hernandez’s (Galen Gering) growing connection. Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) warned Rafe it wasn’t a good idea to bond with a married woman, but Rafe’s adamant that Nicole is simply his friend.
Of course, Nicole seems poised to become a whole lot more!
Eric didn’t even consult with Nicole before deciding to extend his mission in the Congo by three months. This doesn’t seem like something Eric would do at all considering how much he loved Nicole and their life together.
Nevertheless, DOOL writers are doing their best to make the story work. Rafe argued that it was only 90 days, but plenty of drama can happen in 90 days – including cheating.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) is headed back to Salem at some point during February sweeps. Sami will certainly be involved in Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) continuing storyline, but she’ll be part of some other hot plots, too.
Sami always has her hand in quite a few pots, so we’ll see tons of stirring in the coming weeks.
Sami tends to get all up in Rafe’s business anyway – and she certainly isn’t a fan of Nicole. The fact that Nicole and Rafe have gotten so close should rub Sami the wrong way from the start.
Sami may feel like she has to be Eric’s eyes and ears while he’s away. She may even call Eric to voice concerns and accuse Nicole of cheating.
Since Eric isn’t likely to believe that without proof, Sami just might resolve to get some. Will Sami plot to catch Rafe and Nicole having an affair? Since Nicole and Rafe are likely going to have one, they need somebody to catch them and make sure the news gets back to Eric.
Sami is the perfect character to take the lead on that since she’d love to rat out Nicole as her enemy and Rafe as her ex. Rafe and Sami were on pretty good terms during her last stint – with the exception of all the Allie adoption manipulation.
However, Sami may throw any positive bond she has with Rafe away through her determination to expose Rafe and Nicole’s inevitable betrayal.
Bottom line, Eric is gone and Rafe is Nicole’s new love interest. Since Days of Our Lives spoilers say the show needs a way to end “Ericole,” Sami makes sense as the person to jump in here and make that happen.
Knowing Sami, she might try to score a scandalous video or some other evidence to send Eric’s way. We’ll fill you in as other news and updates emerge.
