Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Thursday, April 22 Recap – Ben’s Promise Moves Ciara to Tears - Kate Faces Island Captivity

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, April 22, reveals that Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) reassured Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) about her plan over the phone before arguing with Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) in the park.

Lucas objected to the idea of seducing Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) and insisted Sami was pimping him out.

Sami argued that she was keeping her cheating secret from being exposed and ranted about how Lucas owed her this. Lucas was the reason Sami was in this mess as far as she was concerned.

They argued about who was really to blame, but Sami felt the important thing was Lucas had a choice to make. Lucas could save Sami’s marriage or help Kristen blow it up.

When Lucas insisted he didn’t want to hurt Chloe, Sami countered that he’d be keeping Chloe safe. Kristen was a jealous lunatic who had already broken out of prison and tried to kill Chloe. Sami pointed out that as long as Chloe was interested in Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), she had a giant target on her back.

Lucas still didn’t like the idea of lying about his feelings for Chloe, but Sami didn’t see why he had to lie. She felt like this could be another chance for Lucas and Chloe to make something work.

Meanwhile, Brady was grateful to “Susan Banks” aka Kristen for agreeing to watch Rachel Black (Josephine and Rosalind May). However, “Susan” suddenly came up with a doctor’s appointment to go to when she found out Brady was headed to Statesville after being summoned by Vivian Alamain (Linda Dano).

Brady wanted to get another babysitter and visit Vivian anyway since she had something important to tell him. Nevertheless, “Susan” argued that wouldn’t be necessary since she’d wrap this appointment up and be back soon.

“Susan” wound up at Statesville to confront Vivian, who wasn’t surprised to see her. Vivian figured Kristen would find out about her threat to tell Brady and come instead. Vivian assured Kristen that she’d indeed spill the switch news unless Kristen could convince her not to.

Kristen talked about how her plan to tear Brady and Chloe apart was working, but Vivian wasn’t impressed. She wanted Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow) away from Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash), but Kristen warned that things didn’t go well for the last person who threatened to expose her.

Vivian asked if Kristen killed that person and was fine with it if Kristen wanted to kill Kate, too. Kristen insisted she handled it with a mask, a suitcase and a desert island. Vivian suggested that outcome would work for Kate and pushed Kristen to get going on it.

At Basic Black on Thursday’s DOOL episode, Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) showed up to tell Chloe that Titan wanted their warehouses back. She demanded that Chloe and Brady stop “squatting,” but Chloe countered that they didn’t have lease to terminate. Philip was doing Chloe a favor, but Gabi insisted she was there on Philip’s behalf.

Gabi didn’t want Titan to have the warehouses since Gabi Chic was part of Titan now, so that made them direct rivals with Basic Black.

Gabi wanted to continue this conversation with Brady and was surprised to learn he was working from home. She called Chloe out for acting weird, but Chloe made it clear that Brady was still very much in charge.

Afterward, Chloe stopped by the townhouse and apologized for making things awkward between them. She felt like she was the reason Brady was avoiding the office and thought it was best if she quit.

Brady admitted Chloe wasn’t wrong – that he indeed had feelings for her. He just wasn’t willing to act on those feelings because of the commitment he made to Kristen.

That said, Brady didn’t want Chloe to quit and didn’t want to lose one of his best friends. Chloe decided that if Brady was still OK with her working at Basic Black, then she was OK with that, too.

Later, Chloe was teary in her hotel suite and beat herself up for going after a man in a committed relationship. She told herself she’d find someone else – and right on cue, Lucas showed up at Chloe’s door.

In the town square on Thursday’s Days episode, Kate got the feeling Jake was buttering up with her favorite drink and a nice lunch. Jake admitted he was since he wanted to be honest about something. He confessed to feeling jealous when he saw Gabi on her date with Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson).

Jake assured Kate that he didn’t want to break up and that it was just something that happened in the moment. Kate wasn’t thrilled over Jake’s updates, but she appreciated his honesty.

Jake moved onto part two of why he asked Kate to lunch. He pitched the idea of a getaway – somewhere far away so they wouldn’t constantly bump into Gabi and Philip.

Kate wondered if Jake was thinking about something like a private island, so he agreed he had something like that in mind. After Kate dashed off to pack, Jake downed the rest of his beer and said cheers to Gabi being “out of sight, out of mind.”

When Jake turned around, Gabi was standing there in front of him.

Kate made her way back to the DiMera mansion and was startled when “Susan” arrived. After Kate admitted that “Susan” scared her, “Susan” asked how little old her could scare anyone since she wouldn’t hurt a fly.

As for Brady on Thursday’s Days of Our Lives episode, he got another call from Vivian and learned everything was fine at Statesville. Vivian insisted it was a false alarm, so Brady didn’t have to come after all.

Across town, Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) lashed out at Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) over his decision to take Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) to South Africa. Theo insisted it was Ciara’s idea, but Claire was upset since she was married – plus, she felt Theo would get hurt if Ciara’s memories returned.

Theo insisted on living in the moment with Ciara and eventually got Claire to settle down enough to hug him goodbye. Claire admitted she’d miss Theo, but she still felt he was making a mistake. Theo argued that if he was, then it was his mistake to make.

At the hospital, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) reeled as Ciara insisted she was headed to South Africa with Theo. He promised to give Ciara space, but he begged her not to leave town. Ciara had to get away from Ben and everyone else since they all expected her to have years of memories she didn’t have.

Ciara argued that Theo made her feel safe and suggested they were more than friends. Ben was agitated and ranted about how they were married, but Ciara thought that was just “technically” the case. Although Ciara wasn’t an item with Theo yet, she admitted they were going to see where things went.

Theo arrived to find Ben in Ciara’s room and flipped out briefly. Once Theo realized Ciara was all right, Ben griped about the South Africa move and argued Theo didn’t have to let her come. Ciara snapped that no one lets her do anything – and Theo backed her up.

Ben didn’t know “what the hell” Theo thought he was doing, but he warned him it was a mistake. Theo asked if that was a threat, but Ben confirmed it wasn’t. After Ben told Ciara that she still loved him somewhere deep inside, she started to get emotional.

Ben said Ciara could run away and leave the country, but she was his wife – and Ben promised that was never going to change. Tears streamed down Ciara’s face as Ben left.

As other Days details emerge, we’ll keep you in the loop. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Ciara’s upcoming departure will hit Ben hard, so stay tuned to see how he’ll pick up the pieces of his broken heart!
