Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, May 13, reveals that Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) and Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) said “I love you” before Kate Roberts Dimera (Lauren Koslow) got a bedroom surprise.
Meanwhile, Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) found himself ambushed by a desperate Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk).
At the DiMera mansion, Gabi caught Jake trying to sneak out of the bedroom and assumed he wanted to bail on her. Jake asked if Gabi really thought he would do that, but he ultimately admitted he wouldn’t blame Gabi for thinking he would after all the games they’d played.
However, Jake said he was simply hungry since he went to bed without eating and thought it’d be nice if he brought Gabi breakfast in bed. Jake assured Gabi that she was the only one he wanted and struggled as he tried to convey why he felt that way.
Jake envied songwriters who could just pick up their guitar and say the words, so Gabi wondered what words Jake meant.
Jake eventually said “I love you” to Gabi, so she thought his awkward and sweet declaration was perfect. Gabi made a speech about how Jake made her believe in love again after Stefan DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) death.
Gabi held onto grief to keep Stefan alive in her heart, but she pointed out that Jake was right there with her – not just in thoughts and dreams.
Gabi confessed that she loved Jake too and that she’d been trying to fool herself by denying it. At the police station, Lucas wanted to file a missing person’s report for Kate.
Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) couldn’t help since deciding to leave Salem might just mean someone came to their senses!
Lucas protested on Thursday’s Days episode, but he couldn’t explain exactly why he felt Kate was in trouble since it’d mean betraying a confidence. Without more information, Rafe refused to look at this as anything more than an adult making her own decisions.
At the hospital on Thursday’s episode of DOOL, Kristen posed as Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) and rushed in looking for updates on Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) piped up to offer them, which irritated “Susan.”
After “Susan” claimed to have had a premonition about Brady being in danger, Chloe sarcastically suggested “Susan” should use one of her trances to figure out who the driver who hit him was.
“Susan” lashed out and wanted to talk to Brady’s doctor, but John Black (Drake Hogestyn) insisted he’d talk to the doctor instead and angrily warned “Susan” to pray in the chapel if she wanted to help.
Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) backed John up on that, so Kristen headed to the chapel still wearing her Susan disguise. After listening to Lucas’ voicemail on Sami Brady DiMera’s (Alison Sweeney) phone, Kristen knew she had to find Lucas before he blabbed the whole story to Rafe.
Back in the waiting area on Thursday’s Days episode, Chloe suggested Marlena should try getting in touch with Lucas if she wanted to find Sami. Marlena felt there was something Chloe wasn’t telling her, so Chloe confessed that Lucas and Sami tried to convince her that he was dying of an inoperable brain tumor.
After Chloe explained how Sami had even posed as “Stan” (Dan Wells) again, Marlena admitted that scared her. She wondered if Chloe was sure Lucas wasn’t sick, so Chloe said she couldn’t be 100-percent positive.
Chloe just assumed Lucas and Sami were lying about everything, but she decided maybe she should go get more answers from Lucas in person.
At the DiMera mansion again, Lucas once again tried and failed to get in touch with Sami over the phone. Lucas decided he’d have to tell Rafe exactly what happened, but “Susan” based him in the head with a fireplace poker and knocked him out.
Sami was busy trying to figure out an escape strategy down in the DiMera cellar when Kristen opened the door and tossed unconscious Lucas in with her.
Back upstairs, Chloe entered and seemed suspicious as she picked up the stray fireplace poker. “Susan” reappeared behind Chloe and looked uneasy.
At the hospital once more, John was relieved over the news that Brady was out of surgery. Since Brady could only have one visitor at a time, Marlena encouraged John to go in first. Brady was awake and agitated as he tried to tell John about Kristen.
John wanted his son to calm down, but Brady was eventually able to insist that Kristen wasn’t in prison and that she’d gotten out.
Back in Gabi’s bedroom on Thursday’s Days episode, she was about to make love to Jake again when Kate arrived looking out of it in the doorway. Kate struggled to focus for a moment and then put her finger to her chin – deep in thought over the steaminess in front of her.
Jake tapped Gabi to get her to turn around and look at Kate before sliding Gabi’s bra strap back up.
In Xander Kiriakis’ (Paul Telfer) suite, Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) woke up in bed with him and had to run into the bathroom to throw up.
Nicole was horrified over cheating on the best person ever with the worst person ever, but Xander insisted Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) wasn’t such a great guy if he bailed on Nicole and her daughter for this long.
Xander felt Nicole wanted someone shallow last night – someone who wasn’t trying to change her or make her atone for anything. Nicole insisted it was a horrible mistake she made while wasted and added that she was just missing her husband.
Nicole claimed she thought about Eric the whole time, but Xander guessed that Nicole’s mind must’ve drifted to Rafe at some point.
Xander needled Nicole about Rafe being the one she really wanted. He checked the voicemail on Nicole’s phone and played one from Rafe.
Xander suggested that Nicole’s feelings might be reciprocated, but Nicole snarled about how she hated Xander before storming out. Xander reflected on his string of bad decisions once he was alone.
