Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, November 18, reveals that Abe Carver (James Reynolds) dumped Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) while Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) struggled with bio dad pain. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) also stopped Susan Banks’ (Stacy Haiduk) escape, so let’s discuss all the DOOL drama.
At the wedding on Thursday’s Days episode, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) insisted she knew why Paulina made Lani her matron of honor. Chanel declared it was because Lani was Paulina’s daughter, not her niece.
Lani suggested that couldn’t be true – and Abe pushed Chanel to reveal who told her this. Chanel said it didn’t matter and was willing to swear on a Bible that she was telling the truth.
Paulina argued that her daughter – her ONLY daughter – was lying, but Olivia Price (Marla Gibbs) eventually got up and confirmed Chanel’s claims.
Lani learned they made a decision as a family to give Paulina’s daughter to Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo), so Lani realized Abe wasn’t her father either.
Paulina ultimately admitted all of that was true, but she wanted to face this crisis with Abe as husband and wife. Abe said there would be no wedding – not now, not ever.
After Abe stormed out, Paulina chased after him. Meanwhile, Marlena could barely contain her glee over the nuptials falling apart.
Theo confronted Chanel and insisted she didn’t have to do this. He always knew Chanel was a self-centered brat, but he never thought her selfishness would destroy his family!
Theo wondered what on earth possessed Chanel to turn everyone’s pain into a spectacle, but Marlena suggested Chanel did what she felt was right.
After Marlena pointed out that judging wouldn’t help anything now, she urged Chanel to take Olivia home. Olivia wasn’t happy about Marlena delivering orders, but she went home with Chanel anyway.
Marlena allowed her voice to change as she muttered about how she loved destroying a good wedding. Theo asked if Dr. Evans said something, but Marlena assured him that she didn’t.
Elsewhere, Lani admitted to Eli that she never got a DNA test done since she believed Tamara. Lani was just so happy to have a good father that she didn’t question it.
Eli understood and argued this didn’t have to change anything. He pointed out that he didn’t know his own biological father growing up, but he still had a father who loved him – and the love was what mattered.
Lani thought Eli always knew the right thing to say, but she still felt this would change things whether they liked it or not. Eli encouraged Lani to go find Paulina and get the whole truth.
In the town square, Paulina caught up with Abe and told him Lani would always be his daughter. Abe snapped that Lani was never his daughter and ranted about how Paulina cost him the most important thing in his life.
Paulina explained that Lani’s biological father was an abusive man and refused to apologize for how things turned out.
Paulina was sorry for the lies, but she was glad Lani now had a wonderful dad. Abe refused to listen to any more of Paulina’s excuses and stomped off, but Lani showed up and glared at Paulina soon after.
At the pub on Thursday’s Days episode, Abe came in looking for a friend, so Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) said he came to the right place.
While Roman hugged Abe, Theo made his way to Lani’s apartment and found Eli. Theo wanted to tell Lani that she was still his sister, but he learned Lani was off getting the rest of the story.
Over with Olivia, she guessed it was that “head-shrinker” who told Chanel about Paulina being Lani’s mother.
Olivia assumed Marlena told Chanel to blow up the wedding and had been around long enough to know when the devil had somebody’s tongue.
At the Salem PD, Belle Brady (Martha Madison) filled Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) in on how she might have a new case depending on whether she was willing to sue her mother.
Belle explained that Marlena convinced Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) to waive her authority to make medical decisions for Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) and give that power to Marlena.
Belle guessed she could argue that Julie didn’t know what she was doing when she signed.
Belle complained about Marlena’s strange behavior lately and decided she’d take the case, which meant she was willing to take her mom to court.
In the DiMera crypt, Susan was horrified when John Black (Drake Hogestyn) informed her that she took the form of that “she-devil” Kristen DiMera (Eileen Davidson) and tried to seduce him.
When John realized Susan had hairpins, he tried to guide her through the process of picking the locks on his restraints.
Susan couldn’t do it, so John urged her to try the ancient lock on the crypt door instead. John pushed Susan to tell all of Salem that the devil had Marlena, so Susan was fired up.
After Susan fiddled with the lock and heard a click, she declared she was going to stop Satan in his tracks!
Suddenly, Marlena stepped forward to block Susan’s escape and asked if she was going somewhere.
