Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Thursday, September 23 Recap – EJ Kicks Gabi Out – Xander Arrested – Ava’s Request

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Thursday, September 23 Recap – EJ Kicks Gabi Out – Xander Arrested – Ava’s RequestDays of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 23, reveals that EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel) kicked Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) out after stealing the mansion back – and Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) got arrested. Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) also had a surprising job request, so here’s how all the DOOL drama went down.

At the DiMera mansion, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) found out Gabi and Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) were moving back in. “Over my dead body,” Chad declared on Thursday’s DOOL episode.

Gabi announced that since she inherited the house from Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash), she was going to be the merciless landlady. She told Chad to pack his crap and get out – though Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) and the kids were welcome to stay.

At the police station on Thursday’s Days episode, EJ tried and failed to get his $1 million back. Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) took great pleasure in revealing that it was still part of the investigation.

After EJ returned home, he learned Gabi was throwing Chad out of the DiMera mansion. Gabi said EJ was next, but EJ pulled out the deed to the house and announced that he was the new owner. Chad wondered how EJ managed that – and Gabi argued this couldn’t possibly be legal.

However, EJ suggested he’d get into the details with Chad later. The point was EJ could now decide who stayed and who went, so he immediately kicked Jake and Gabi out. Gabi snarled that she would call her lawyer, but EJ warned she’d have to do it elsewhere since Gabi and Jake were now trespassing.

Chad whined about EJ going behind his back to make this happen, but Abigail shut down their clashing before it escalated. On his way up to the kids, Chad did let EJ know he was thankful. EJ also hinted to Abigail about waiting on a call that involved “more fun to be had.”

At the Hernandez house, Ava explained to Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) that she overheard Jake and Gabi plotting to oust him from Titan. Philip realized Gabi wanted to take control herself and thought that made since “the lady did protest too much” when he accused her of scheming.

Ava hinted that there was a string attached to this info and wanted Philip to keep her in mind for a job. She explained that the one at Julie’s Place fell through since Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) blew her off and started cursing at her.

Ava didn’t want to work for crazy people and hoped she could land at Titan instead, but Philip wondered how he’d explain that to Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston). After all, Ava did blackmail Philip, force him to launder money and nearly got him killed by the mob.

Ava argued that Philip would have some job openings soon since he’d have to fire Gabi and Jake. Philip insisted he couldn’t get rid of Gabi since that’d mean losing Gabi Chic. That said, Philip appreciated the info and intended to handle Gabi if this info was true.

Rafe showed up and was curious about Philip’s visit, but Ava made excuses after Philip left. She acted like Philip was in the area and agreed to stop by to talk about her job request, but Rafe was baffled over why Philip would want to hire Ava considering their history.

Rafe got updates on Gabi and Jake moving out before he was summoned to deal with police business. After Rafe was gone, Jake and Gabi came home. They informed Ava they’d be staying there after all, so Ava obviously wasn’t thrilled about that.

In Xander’s hotel suite on Thursday’s Days episode, Gwen Rizczcech (Emily O’Brien) suggested they were friends. Xander really wondered if that’s all they were and admitted Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) asked about his intentions.

“What is this? Jane Austen?” Gwen said with a laugh. She was sorry Jack “went all Victorian” on Xander, but he didn’t mind since Jack was just being a protective dad. Gwen wasn’t used to that – and she wasn’t used to everything Xander had done for her either. She shared a tender moment with Xander as she touched his face and expressed her gratitude.

Xander and Gwen knew it’d probably be safest and smartest to part ways, but Gwen said the problem was she didn’t want to. Since Xander didn’t want that either, they made love and ultimately ordered room service.

Xander was nervous about EJ sending the cops after him, but Gwen felt like it wouldn’t happen since it hadn’t happened already. There was a knock at the door, so Xander assumed it was the room service they ordered. Instead, it was Rafe, who revealed that the charges had been reinstated and placed Xander under arrest.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) defended himself since Victor was the only one who said anything about stealing Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) away. Chloe didn’t think it was any better that Brady was trying to have Philip fired. She felt like Brady was being unfair to Philip – though she admitted she wasn’t going to tell Philip about any of this since he’d rightfully go berserk.

When Philip came home, he was perfectly pleasant and even thought Brady should get into it with Victor more often. Philip suggested that Victor had been lonely since Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) had been away. He invited Brady to stay for dinner and apologized since he was wrong about Brady putting the keylogger on his laptop.

Philip shook Brady’s hand and acted pleased that Brady accepted the dinner invitation. Once Philip left the room, Chloe felt he just proved that Brady was wrong about him. A suspicious Brady didn’t seem so sure about that!
