Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 9, reveals that Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) was accused of corporate espionage as Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) threatened him with prison. Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) also managed to save Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) with a sneaky move, so here’s how things played on Thursday’s Days episode.
In Rafe Hernandez’s (Galen Gering) office, he gazed at a pic he’d taken with Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and Duke the teddy bear. Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) noticed the pic on Rafe’s phone, which led to a conversation about Rafe convincing Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) that he wanted to be with her, not Nicole.
Eli wondered if Rafe was being honest with himself, so Rafe insisted that he was. He added that he didn’t even know if Nicole was interested and that it didn’t matter anyway. Rafe said he’d made up his mind and that was that.
Eli insisted he was happy for Rafe and Ava, but he hated that Rafe had to lose Nicole’s friendship.
At Julie’s Place, Ava said Nicole looked like she’d lost her best friend. She sat down next to Nicole at the bar and admitted she’d turned in her resume to work as Julie Williams’ (Susan Seaforth Hayes) cook.
Nicole figured it was because it’d be awkward to work for her at Basic Black now, but she pointed out Rafe had no interest in her romantically.
Ava disagreed since Rafe had admitted his interest in an honest conversation. She wished she’d been wrong, but she was at least glad that Rafe said he put those feelings behind him. Ava offered updates on Rafe promising she was the one he wanted, so Nicole was relieved to hear they kissed and made up.
Ava just needed Nicole to be honest about her own feelings now, but Nicole argued that she didn’t feel that way about Rafe. After Ava suggested it was still best if Rafe and Nicole didn’t see each other for a while, Nicole said that wouldn’t be a problem.
Suddenly, Rafe walked in and looked uncomfortable when he saw Ava and Nicole together. He joined them briefly, but Nicole made a hasty exit.
Ava mentioned that she was just thanking Nicole for keeping her distance and wanted to be sure Rafe was still OK with that. Rafe claimed he was and wanted to put the topic to rest, but he gazed at the pic of himself with Nicole and Duke again while Ava was freshening up.
At the Hernandez house, Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) accused Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) of putting the keylogger on his computer.
Philip said Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) warned him this would happen, but it didn’t matter now since Gabi and Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) were both fired!
Jake urged Philip to hold up and have IT check Gabi’s laptop since someone might’ve hacked it, too. If so, Jake argued that would prove it was an outside threat instead of Gabi.
Although Gabi was in panic mode, Jake whispered for her to trust him – and sure enough, IT found a keylogger on Gabi’s laptop as well.
After Gabi dropped a hint to point Philip in his enemy’s direction, Philip decided Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) must be behind this.
Once Philip was gone, Jake explained that he installed the spyware on Gabi’s computer to protect her. He wanted to stay a step ahead, so he put a keylogger on Gabi’s laptop in case Philip developed suspicions.
Jake thought he was a genius and made another pitch about taking the Titan throne himself, but Gabi suggested the real genius move was hers.
Gabi tooted her own horn for making Philip think Brady was responsible. Gabi and Jake were hopeful about pulling off a victory once Philip was pushed too far and lashed out.
At the Kiriakis mansion on Thursday’s Days episode, Brady insisted Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) couldn’t stay there after a murder had gone down. He said Chloe was coming home with him tonight, but she said she’d be fine and wasn’t interested in moving in.
Brady acted like Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) had gone off the rails and could get out on bail. He thought the emotional toll was too much as well, but Chloe felt like this was another one of Brady’s attempts to get close to her.
Chloe got fed up with Brady treating her career and life like a joke, so he apologized and admitted he shouldn’t interfere in her personal business. After Brady checked on Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), he returned and mentioned that his old wedding anniversary to Chloe was a couple days away.
Brady remembered Chloe’s smile when he lifted the veil and brought up their romantic night at the cottage. When Brady asked if Chloe remembered too, she said of course she did.
After Philip rushed in, he called Brady a “son of a bitch” and grabbed a couple handfuls of his jacket. Philip accused Brady of installing the spyware on his computer as well as Gabi’s.
Philip warned that he had lawyers looking into it and when he had proof, he’d have Brady thrown in prison for corporate espionage.
Brady fired back that Philip wouldn’t find proof because it didn’t exist. “Consider getting some help, man,” Brady said before sauntering out.
Philip wanted Brady to pay for this and told Chloe that she had to stop working for him, but Chloe refused since Philip had no evidence.
Philip argued that if it turned out he was right, then he wanted Chloe to leave her job and Brady for good. Chloe said if Philip was wrong, she didn’t want to hear a word about Brady ever again. Philip took that deal and shook Chloe’s hand on it.
In the town square on Thursday’s DOOL episode, Brady found Nicole eating her feelings and wanted to get in on it. They shared a pint of ice cream and looked rather glum.
At Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) place, she realized Abe Carver (James Reynolds) heard her telling the twins they could call her “Grandma.” After downing a drink for some liquid courage, Paulina seemed poised to confess.
Instead, Paulina came up with a story about how if they tied the knot someday, she’d be the twins’ grandma by marriage.
Abe assured Paulina that he wasn’t scared off and that the thought had crossed his mind. If things kept going in this direction, Abe could see them getting married. Paulina hugged Abe and seemed shocked that she pulled off that phony marriage excuse.
Abe suggested things were always surprising with Paulina around and admitted he loved her, so Paulina said she loved him, too.
As other Days news becomes available, we’ll keep you posted. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Paulina and Abe will indeed get engaged this fall, so stick with DOOL. CDL will have other hot Days of Our Lives spoilers, updates and news to read up on, so visit again soon.
