Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, April 27, reveals that Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) was relieved to see Belle Brady (Martha Madison) out on bail and back at home.
Claire felt this was all her fault and assumed Belle actually shot Charlie Dale (Mike Manning), but Belle swore that wasn’t the case. Claire wondered how Belle’s button wound up in Charlie’s apartment then, but Belle had no idea.
In the town square on Tuesday’s Days of Our Lives episode, Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) ran into Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) and talked to her about the news of Belle’s arrest.
Jan wondered how much jail time Belle would get, so Nicole felt like Jan was enjoying this. However, Jan stood by her claims that she was a new woman after emerging from her coma and no longer hated Belle.
In fact, Jan felt like Belle did the world a favor by ridding it of a disgusting human being like Charlie. She told Nicole how she recently patched things up with her BFF, Claire.
Jan argued that when she found out about all the terror Charlie inflicted, she felt like she could’ve killed Charlie herself. “Of course, I couldn’t have since I was still in my coma at the time of the murder,” Jan lied.
Nicole suggested Jan should slip right back into that coma, so that led to some clashing between them. Jan said Nicole liked to lecture her about Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) when married Nicole was so close to a certain detective.
“Maybe you’re in love with Rafe Hernandez,” Jan insisted. Nicole felt that was absurd, but Jan didn’t think so and sauntered off after telling Nicole “toodles.”
Meanwhile on Tuesday’s Days episode, Belle made her way to John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) townhouse and informed them that Shawn hired Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) to be her attorney. Justin thought the case was flimsy since the button was the only evidence.
Belle pointed out that she wasn’t at Charlie’s apartment and nobody saw her there, but John piped up that he did – that he saw Belle shoot Charlie. That left Belle unsettled since her own father was accusing her of this.
John talked about blacking out and eventually convincing Marlena to hypnotize him. He was adamant that he saw Belle shoot Charlie in the same red coat she was wearing that night.
Belle argued that wasn’t true and asked if John saw her face, so he admitted he didn’t. Belle felt confident she was set up by someone wearing her coat in Charlie’s apartment. She wondered who would hate her enough to do something like that before sighing and insisting she knew who did it.
At Rafe Hernandez’s (Galen Gering) place, he was excited over a call from Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) about Hope Brady’s (Kristian Alfonso) homecoming – and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) noticed.
After Rafe hung up, he expressed how thrilled he was for Hope and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) to be reunited.
Ava suspected there was more to it than that and noted that she heard Rafe used to be married to Hope. Rafe confessed that he was supposed to try again with Hope before he had to leave town unexpectedly. When Rafe returned, Hope had already left on her search for Ciara.
Talk eventually turned to the murder case and Rafe’s doubts about Belle being the real culprit. Rafe didn’t think Belle would stand by and watch innocent people she loved be accused.
At the hospital on Tuesday’s episode of Days of Our Lives, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) cornered Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) and pushed him to talk Ciara out of leaving Salem.
Ben insisted he couldn’t have his wife living across the world and felt like if Ciara left now, it was all over.
Theo argued that this wasn’t about Ben, but Ben insisted it wasn’t about Theo either. He wanted Theo to put his own desire to be with Ciara aside.
Theo countered this was what Ciara wanted, so Ben shifted gears and asked Theo to at least convince Ciara to stay for a few more days. He pushed for time to process this, but Theo refused to be dishonest with Ciara and felt like Ben should let go since Ciara wasn’t in love with him anymore.
In Ciara’s hospital room on Tuesday’s DOOL episode, Shawn delighted Ciara with the news that Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) had been found in Morocco.
Hope had gotten herself in a jam with some of Vincent Belman’s (Michael Teh) associates, but Shawn was finally able to reach her. He assured Ciara that their mom was coming back to Salem, but Ciara revealed there’d been a change of plans.
Ciara explained that she was leaving for South Africa with Theo, but Shawn didn’t think that was a good idea. Shawn stuck up for Ben since he didn’t give up on finding Ciara, even when the rest of them thought she was gone forever.
Ciara had heard all this before and didn’t want to hear it again. She insisted she didn’t feel safe around Ben and needed to be somewhere where he couldn’t show up all the time.
Shawn was taken aback when Ciara revealed that Ben tried to attack her with a hypodermic needle. She offered updates on Ben’s attempt to jab her with Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (William Utay) memory serum without her consent.
Ciara urged Shawn not to try talking her out of this since her mind was made up about leaving for South Africa today.
Shawn ultimately agreed to call Ciara and let her know she should catch a flight to Johannesburg instead of Salem. Since Rafe was the last person Ciara had to say her goodbyes to, she gave him a call and confessed that Hope wouldn’t be coming back home after all.
Rafe expressed his love for Ciara and bid her farewell before disconnecting.
Ava could tell Rafe was disappointed about Hope going to South Africa instead of Salem. Rafe felt a bit foolish for getting his hopes up, but Ava hugged Rafe and insisted he was a good man. She felt Hope was a fool to ever let Rafe go, so Rafe stood there staring into Ava’s eyes.
While Nicole looked pensive over an article featuring a picture of Rafe, Ava leaned in as Rafe kissed her. Ava kissed back, so it turned into a full-blown make-out session. As for Jan, she showed up at the police station and exchanged a tense look with Shawn.
Back with Ben, he found Claire and insisted he only had one extreme option left. Ben insisted Claire was going to help him by distracting Theo for a half hour or so.
Ben revealed that he was going to kidnap Ciara by tricking her, but Claire panicked at the thought of it and tried to shut this plan down.
Although Ben felt Ciara would remember their love if he took her to the cabin, Claire didn’t think Ciara was going to have the warm, fuzzy memories that Ben was expecting.
Claire reminded Ben that Ciara thought of the cabin as the place where she tried to set her on fire. She insisted that Ciara would just freak out and end up traumatized.
Ben wondered if that meant Claire wasn’t going to help him then. “I thought you were my friend,” Ben said angrily on Tuesday’s episode of Days of Our Lives. Claire argued that she was – and that’s why she wasn’t going to help Ben do something like this. Ben decided he’d just do it on his own and stormed out.
Once Claire was alone, she tried and failed to get in touch with Ben over the phone. Claire prayed that Ben wouldn’t do something he’d regret. At the hospital again, Ciara was dressed and ready to go. She assured Theo that she had no regrets and wanted to leave now.
Before Ciara could board the elevator with Theo, Ben exited the elevator doors and had a stare-down with Ciara.
