Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Tuesday, July 20 Recap – Nicole Sobs Over End of Eric Marriage – Sami Confesses Xander Scheme to EJ

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 20, reveals that Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) sobbed over the end of her marriage to Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) while Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) confessed her Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) scheme to EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel). Here’s the scoop on all Tuesday’s DOOL action.

At the DiMera mansion, Sami tried to act like Nicole was just being classic Nicole and taking a shot in the dark with her comments directed at her.

Sami acted like those comments were meaningless, but EJ still seemed suspicious and kept grilling his wife.

EJ reflected on just how public and brutal Nicole’s downfall was.

EJ didn’t see any way for Nicole and Eric’s marriage to survive and thought it was strange that Sami just stood there instead of jumping at the chance to back up Xander’s story.

Sami finally confessed to paying Xander $1 million and felt it was worth it to make sure Nicole got what she deserved.

Although Sami insisted she didn’t enjoy hurting Eric, she felt it had to be done.

EJ acknowledged Sami’s role in Eric’s misery, but he did feel it must’ve been awful for her to see Nicole and Xander going into the Salem Inn together.

Sami looked guilty as EJ gushed over his wife staying faithful to him, even when he didn’t deserve it.

Next on Tuesday’s Days episode, Eric admitted he was hoping to be gone before Nicole got home.

Nicole was upset that Eric just wanted to slink off into the night without talking things out. She suggested Eric wanted to just run back to his good work – where no one asked “a damn thing” of him.

Nicole ranted about Eric leaving her alone for the entire first year of their marriage.

They made the decision that they’d be there for Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) and Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley Fox) together, but then Eric bailed.

Eric wondered why Nicole would turn to Xander of all people, so Nicole admitted maybe she went to bed with him so her husband would finally pay attention to her.

Nicole thought she did what she did best and self-destructed.

Nicole also didn’t want to beg Eric to be on the same continent, so Eric acknowledged this was just as much his fault as it was Nicole’s.

Eric was sincerely sorry and wondered what they did now, but Nicole didn’t see anything they could do. She felt she’d always be a sinner and Eric would always be a saint.

Although Nicole knew Eric would find a way to forgive her, she insisted she’d never forgive herself.

Nicole felt that Eric was a good man who wanted to help others, but having a wife who needed his whole life and heart made that really hard to do.

Nicole suggested she was the best version of herself with Eric, but he was the best version of himself without her.

When Eric asked what they were supposed to do, Nicole confessed that she thought this marriage was over. After Eric kissed Nicole one last time, Nicole urged him to go.

“I’ll always love you,” Eric said as he turned in the doorway. Nicole replied that she’d “always, always love” Eric as well before he shut the door behind him. Once Nicole was alone, she sank to the floor sobbing in despair.

At the pub, Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) urged Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) to use Nicole’s desire for revenge to his advantage.

Philip thought Nicole would happily deliver the letter and get some payback. He expected EJ would kick Sami to the curb and then Lucas would be right there to comfort her.

Although Lucas hated the way EJ treated Sami like property, he decided he couldn’t get Sami back like this. Lucas didn’t want to hurt Sami and felt he should’ve just let the letter burn.

After Lucas tossed the letter in the trash and headed upstairs, Philip fished it out and insisted he wasn’t giving up.

At Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) place, he talked to Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) about Ciara Brady’s (Victoria Konefal) annulment.

It made it so Ciara could marry Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) tomorrow on their anniversary – and Ben felt the date was something Ciara was doing on purpose to stick it to him.

Claire argued that maybe Ciara was scared she’d remember Ben instead and suggested she wanted to rush to the altar as soon as possible.

Claire didn’t want Ben to throw in the towel, so Ben agreed he had to do “whatever the hell” it took to stop Ciara from marrying Theo.

At the DiMera mansion, Theo informed Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) that he was getting married tomorrow since Ciara was able to get an annulment.

Chad worried Theo was rushing things and was concerned about the wedding date.

Theo admitted he didn’t like Ciara using this as some sort of Ben payback, but he was adamant about marrying his fiancée and wanted Chad to be his best man.

At Julie’s Place on Tuesday’s Days episode, Ciara filled Allie in on her annulment and hoped Allie would agree to be her maid of honor.

Allie had to ask if Ciara was marrying Theo on her anniversary to Ben on purpose.

Ciara confessed that she wanted to take that date back as the day she married her best friend, not a serial killer.

Allie tried to remind Ciara of her previous wedding, but Ciara didn’t want to hear it. She argued that everyone in the church that day could’ve died because of Ben.

Allie defended Ben as someone who was mentally ill and put in the work to get better.

Allie insisted Ben was a changed man when he married Ciara, but Ciara remained frustrated with this whole discussion.

Allie pointed out that Ben and Ciara used to be so in love – that everyone thought they were forever.

Allie tried to bring up Ciara’s old vows to Ben, but Ciara shut her down. Ciara said she felt safe with Theo, but Allie wasn’t sure that was the best reason to marry someone.

Ciara finally got fed up and suggested she thought Allie would be excited to stand up for her. If Allie didn’t want to do it, Ciara snapped that it was fine.

Theo walked over to wonder what Ciara and Allie were talking about, so Ciara admitted she asked Allie to be her maid of honor.

In the end, Allie assured Ciara that she’d indeed be her maid of honor – and Theo confirmed that Chad was going to be his best man.

Ciara told Theo that nothing in the world was going to stop them from marrying, but she looked uneasy as she hugged him.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say some huge shockers are coming up at Theo and Ciara’s nuptials, so stay tuned to DOOL.
