Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Tuesday, September 7 Recap – Bloody Calista Crashes Wedding - Xander Warms Gwen's Heart

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 7, reveals that Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) derailed Bonnie Lockhart’s (Judi Evans) wedding after Calista Lockhart’s (Cady Huffman) death. Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) also suffered from some memory issues, so here’s how it all played out on Tuesday’s Days episode.

At Julie’s Place, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) remembered there’d been some robberies recently and suspected that maybe the thugs hit her restaurant.

Julie speculated to Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) that Doug locked her in the freezer to protect her and then got kidnapped for ransom.

Jack seemed doubtful about that and wondered if maybe Doug had a fight with Julie. She admitted to a little tiff earlier, but she didn’t think Doug would leave her locked in a freezer because of it.

Next on Tuesday’s Days episode, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) served Doug a burger, fries and a beer at the Brady Pub.

When Roman asked where Julie was, Doug cracked a joke and didn’t offer any real answers. After Doug called Roman by the name “John,” Roman corrected him – though he knew it was an easy mistake to make since John went by that name for years.

Doug mentioned something about John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Vivian Alamain (Linda Dano) reuniting, so Roman corrected him again since Doug meant John and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall).

Doug wondered how he could’ve mixed the two up. “I must be losing it, John!” Doug said, making the same mistake on Roman’s name again.

Afterward, Roman called Julie to let her know Doug was at the pub. Julie suggested sending Doug back to Julie’s Place, but Roman thought it’d be better if Julie and Jack came there instead.

Once they arrived, Jack and Julie could tell Doug was acting off. Doug couldn’t remember locking Julie in the freezer and thought that must’ve been somebody else.

At the Horton house later, Julie tried to blame Doug’s behavior on being tired and threw out a few other excuses as well. However, Jack explained the name mix-ups that Roman told him about while Julie was putting Doug in the car.

Jack knew Julie didn’t want to hear this, but he felt like Doug really needed to see a doctor.

Jack suggested it could be something treatable or nothing at all, so he felt like getting Doug checked out would offer peace of mind. Since Julie was shaking, Jack suggested she should get checked out, too.

“I’m not going anywhere – and neither is my husband,” Julie said sternly. She was clearly rattled and in denial about Doug’s mental problems.

In Xander Cook Kiriakis’ (Paul Telfer) hotel room, he figured out Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) must’ve swiped his keycard and returned to steal his $1 million while he was in the shower.

Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) held herself responsible since Xander got tangled up in this jam with EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel) because he took the drug running blame.

Xander insisted it was his choice to take the fall, but there was one thing Gwen could do for him. He urged Gwen not to tell Jack about having her miscarriage before her staircase tumble or else everything he did would be all for naught.

Xander suggested Gwen should be ready with a lie instead. He didn’t think Gwen should throw away her relationship with her father over Xander’s forever terrible reputation.

Gwen marveled at how no one had ever done anything like this for her, but Xander said she was worth it.

On the bright side, Gwen pointed out that Jack wouldn’t stand in the way of them seeing each other since he knew Xander wasn’t a drug runner.

A surprised Xander asked if that’s what Gwen wanted, so she suggested that maybe it was.

For now, Gwen urged Xander to go get his money back while she figured out what she was going to tell Jack. Xander gave Gwen a passionate kiss for luck before she left.

Once Gwen made it back to the Horton house, she got updates on Doug’s potential dementia and was upset about it. Gwen obviously wasn’t close to Julie, but she’d shared a few midnight pints with Doug and knew he was a good guy.

Jack wanted to talk about why Dr. Clay Snyder (Michael Lowry) was blackmailing Gwen, but she said she just remembered she had an errand to run and dashed off. That bought Gwen more time to think about what she was going to say.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Bonnie tried to convince Calista not to shoot her. Calista was undeterred and grabbed a pillow to use as a silencer.

There was a struggle over the gun before it went off – sending feathers flying before Calista looked down and saw blood running down her dress from a gunshot wound.

After Calista fell on the bed, Bonnie realized she was dead and freaked out. Moments later, Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) showed up outside the bedroom door with Bonnie’s makeup bag and pushed the bride to let her help.

Bonnie covered Calista’s corpse up before Kayla entered and asked about the feathers all over the floor.

However, Bonnie argued they didn’t make pillows like they used to and suggested one simply tore apart when she tried to fluff it. Kayla then noticed Calista on the bed, so Bonnie lied that she wasn’t feeling well.

When Kayla wanted to examine her, Bonnie said she already knew was wrong and blamed it on all the mimosas Calista drank. Kayla guessed Calista would sleep right through the wedding and thought it was a shame since she came all this way.

Kayla also realized Bonnie was missing a nail and thought that was a bummer since Bonnie had supposedly spent so much time at the manicurist.

Bonnie started crying about how nothing was going right, but Kayla reassured her about the wedding moving forward and suggested they get to the “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” ritual.

Bonnie thought Calista’s handkerchief would check most of those boxes, but then she noticed some blood on it and hurriedly put it away.

Kayla pushed Bonnie to don her dress and get the wedding show on the road while Justin and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) had a pre-wedding chat.

Justin insisted he couldn’t do this if he wasn’t convinced that Bonnie had turned her life around. Steve just wanted Justin to be happy and offered a toast to the groom before Bonnie appeared.

Once the wedding got underway on Tuesday’s DOOL episode, the officiant got to the part about objections. A bloody Calista staggered out ranting about how Bonnie tried to kill her, but it was just in Bonnie’s imagination.

Unfortunately, Xander interrupted for real and insisted the blushing bride stole a million dollars from him. Justin wondered why Bonnie would even be in Xander’s room, so Bonnie claimed she just wanted Justin to have someone at the wedding on his side.

Kayla piped up about Xander having a habit of crashing events with scandalous accusations, but Xander insisted his claims at the anniversary party were true and now his claims about the stolen million were true, too. “Isn’t that right, Bonnie?” Xander asked angrily.
