Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Wednesday, May 5 Recap – Xander’s New Marriage Proposal, Claire’s Mistake – Chanel’s Job Offer

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 5, reveals that Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) crossed paths with Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) at the pub and needled her about Mimi Lockhart (Farah Fath) getting away with putting her in a coma years ago.

Now that Jan’s out of another coma, she argued that Belle Brady (Martha Madison) wouldn’t get away with what she did.

Bonnie mentioned she was dating Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth), so Jan thought that sounded “complicated.” After Jan mentioned the recording of John Black (Drake Hogestyn) admitting he saw Belle shoot Charlie Dale (Mike Manning), Bonnie wondered how Jan knew about that.

Jan claimed she saw it on the news, but Bonnie pulled up the latest updates on her tablet and called Jan out on the lie.

Bonnie pushed to find out how Jan knew more about this case than she did. “Because Belle is my mortal enemy and I’ll do anything to see her fry,” Jan insisted on Wednesday’s Days of Our Lives episode.

Jan argued that all the real news was on the dark web anyway and felt confident Belle wouldn’t wiggle out of this one.

Bonnie thought this was all about Jan going after Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer). She warned that even if Belle went to prison for the rest of her life, Jan would never be Mrs. Jan Brady.

Bonnie paused to laugh over the name “Jan Brady” since it reminded her of Jan Brady from The Brady Bunch. She thought Jan should stick to her imaginary boyfriend George Glass.

Jan insisted that Jan Brady jokes weren’t new and added that she shouldn’t be underestimated. Bonnie didn’t think Justin should be underestimated either and felt he would get Belle off the hook.

Jan insisted all she ever heard was how great Justin was. “Justin, Justin, Justin…” Jan grumbled. Bonnie said sometimes the jokes write themselves and patted Jan on the cheek before strutting out.

At the police station on Wednesday’s Days episode, Justin told DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) that no respectable judge would allow that recording.

John refused to give Trask a formal statement, but she still thought the recording would speak for itself. Trask insisted that Belle would have to answer for killing Charlie one way or another.

After the DA left, John got confirmation from Justin that he really thought the recording would be inadmissible.

Even so, John worried Justin might be wrong. He refused to be the reason his own daughter went to prison and felt bad for jumping to the wrong conclusion. John wanted to figure out who was framing Belle before it was too late.

At the townhouse, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) filled Shawn and Belle in on Jan stopping by her office right after John’s hypnosis session. She realized her job might’ve been ajar beforehand and that the recording was on her desk when Jan entered.

Although Marlena locked it up before she left, she thought it was possible Jan heard part of the conversation and realized what might be on the recorder.

Shawn felt like Jan would’ve wanted to tip off Trask. He also remembered seeing Jan at the police station when the DA found out about the recording, so Belle argued that couldn’t be a coincidence.

Belle noted that she said Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) hated her the most, but Jan hated her a thousand times more. She thought it made perfect sense for Jan to kill Charlie and set her up.

Shawn thought the only problem was that Jan was in a coma at the time of Charlie’s murder. He assumed that it couldn’t have been Jan for that reason. Meanwhile, Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) stumbled out of the Salem Inn and offered an empty promise about paying his bill later.

When Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) bumped into Xander, she exclaimed over how trashed he was at like 9:00 a.m.

Talk turned to Charlie, so Xander acknowledged that what Charlie did to Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) was horrible – though he did point out that Claire broke his heart.

Claire was appalled over Xander defending Charlie, but she quickly realized Xander was stuck on the Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) situation instead.

Xander insisted that he tried to move on by marrying Chanel Dupree (Precious Way), so that news came as a shock to Claire.

After Claire explained how Chanel tried to scam her, Xander thought that sounded about right. He also dropped the engagement ring and wound up on one knee in front of Claire.

“Claire Brady, how would you…” Xander started to say. Claire mistakenly thought Xander was proposing and reminded him they were related – and even if they weren’t, she wouldn’t be interested.

Xander insisted he was merely offering to sell Claire the blood diamond, but she wasn’t interested in a thirdhand unethically sourced engagement ring from a drunk proposer.

However, Claire decided to give Xander some advice she learned in therapy. She felt Xander had to be a better person for himself, not someone else. Now that Sarah’s gone, Claire argued that Xander could either wallow in misery or do something about it.

Afterward on Wednesday’s Days of Our Lives episode, Xander bumped into Bonnie and tried to sell the ring to her next. Bonnie examined it and thought it was a beauty, so she agreed to think about it. She suggested she would tell Justin in case he wanted to propose to someone special!

Back with Jan, she thought back to the night of Charlie’s murder as she sat in the pub. Jan didn’t care what Bonnie said and vowed to be Mrs. Jan Brady by the time this was all over.

“Oh, is that a fact?” Claire asked. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Claire will lash out at Jan soon enough, so DOOL fans will want to stay tuned!

At Lani Price-Grant’s (Sal Stowers) apartment on Wednesday’s Days episode, she had just gotten the twins down for their nap when Chanel knocked at the door. Chanel was looking for a place to stay, but Lani refused to let her crash there.

Nevertheless, Chanel was afraid of ending up homeless and needed Lani’s help.

Lani agreed to help Chanel form a plan and suggested a job at the police station, which Chanel shut down. Next, Lani suggested Chanel could be her new nanny, but Chanel didn’t want a demeaning domestic job – though she backtracked when she realized she’d offended Lani.

In the end, Lani decided Chanel would stay on temporarily on the sofa while they figured out her future, so Chanel offered Lani a grateful hug. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Chanel will shake things up at Lani and Eli Grant’s (Lamon Archey) apartment, so stay tuned to DOOL!
