In tonight’s FBI episode, someone took a shot at Special Agent in Charge Trenholm. Her name is Rina. She was dating Jubal. She was actually with Jubal and they were heading to work together when someone shot her. Jubal immediately called for help. He didn’t notice anyone running away because his sole focus was on providing first aide to his girlfriend and so this shooting was one for the FBI.

The FBI wanted to know who shot one of their own. Jubal was told to sit this case out and he ignored the order. He wanted justice for his girlfriend. He also wanted to feel busy. He helped work the case and he was there when they found a suspect. They found out someone was following Rina in the lead up to the shooting. The person following her was identified as Frank Castlewood and he was an ex-con.

The FBI tracked down Castlewood. He tried to take a shot at them for it and he was arrested. They brought him to their interrogation room, but then Jubal forced his way in through to his rank and he began questioning Castlewood. He even promised the man not to pursue attempted murder charges for firing at the FBI as they tried to arrest him in return for answers. Castlewood wasn’t the shooter.

He was just a hired hand. Someone paid him to follow Rina and he wouldn’t say who that someone was. Castlewood seemed afraid of whoever the person. Jubal couldn’t get anything else and so he left the room. He also apologized to Isobel who knew about his relationship with Rina. And she again asked him to walk away from the case.

Jubal again refused her offer to bow out. He wanted to stay on the case until he found out who pulled the trigger and who ordered it. The FBI continued their investigation. They noticed that Castlewood met up with another ex-con by the name of Logan Winters. Winters is a former Marine.

He was accused of illegal gun smuggling and he’s out now because he won an appeal. Winters served time at the same prison during Castlewood’s incarceration. It’s probably where they met. Winters’s case was sealed and so they asked the agent who worked the case. There was no obvious connection to Rina. Winters was also hanging out with pretty shady guys and one of them was known for flooding the country with ghost guns.

The ghost gun is an untraceable gun. The FBI had a task force already on it and so the agent in charge asked Jubal’s team not to touch this case as they pursued Winters. They agreed to this, but Winters was a slippery adversary and it was hard to get him. Winters managed to escape them during a car chase by driving in front of a speeding train and somehow surviving.

He escaped the agents a second time when he had a hidden device began shooting at them and it almost got Maggie. She suffered broken ribs as well as a concussion. She still wanted to work the case and OA was supporting her decision. Only Jubal was off of it. Jubal wanted to know who was pulling the strings and so he was tempted to talk to Castlewood again. And Isobel put a stop to it.

Isobel ordered Jubal to walk away. He did. At first. He went to the hospital where he ran into Rina’s ex-husband and he was there when he began hearing what happened back out in the field. It seems Castlewood wasn’t just taking photos of Rina. He was taking photos of several agents and their families.

Castlewood refused to anything more without full immunity. He said he couldn’t go to jail because one way or another he would be found out as a rat and killed. Castlewood wasn’t talking. Winters wasn’t around to be asked. They asked Winters’s closest associate and they found out his friend built the shooting weapon that almost took out Maggie. McCain said whoever hired Winters was someone scary. Someone who threatened to kill Winters’s children if he didn’t do the job.

This was where Jubal came back. He just couldn’t help himself. The FBI looked into Winters. They found out who else was at the prison who might want a bunch of FBI Agents dead and that’s when they realized that it was Vargas. Vargas once operated a notorious cartel. He was only in prison because the FBI used extraordinary methods to get him.

They found out where his wife and son were being hidden and threatened to reveal the information if he allowed himself to be arrested without a fight. But a lot has happened since then. It turns out that his rivals had been following the FBI and his family was murdered not long after he was sent to prison. Vargas now wants revenge. He was going after everyone responsible for his arrest and he also wanted to harm their families. He wanted them to feel the same pain as he did.

Vargas hired Winters. Winters then turned to his friend to create the perfect assassination machines and those machines are still out there. Vargas wasn’t talking. They managed to get to Winters and unfortunately they had to shoot him after he tried to take a hostage, but they later found the devices and no one else was harmed. Rina is still in the hospital. She’s in a coma and there’s no telling when she’ll wake up.

Jubal found out one of those devices was outside his children’s school and so he tried to talk Isobel into arranging for Vargas to be killed in prison, but she wasn’t having it and she tried to excuse his thinking as being skewed right now.

THE END!
