In tonight’s FBI episode, someone carried out a hit on an NYPD detective. Detective James Gerrard was killed on his way home from a known cop bar and his killer shot him twice in the back. It wasn’t a robbery. His belongings were found on him and the shooter was seen leaving on a bicycle.

He therefore arranged an exit route prior to the murder. The killer and this would normally be handled by the NYPD, but someone got spooked and they called in the FBI. The FBI running point on the case upset a few. The NYPD didn’t like that they had to “share” this case because they figured they should investigate what happened to one of their own and so some were upset with FBI involvement. FBI involvement tends to mean they take the lead. And they asked questions that the police wouldn’t ask.

They asked Gerrard’s widow if there were problems at work. They also asked if he had any financial problems or any debt and she said no. She also didn’t seem offended. But it got back to the NYPD. They heard that widow was asked if her husband was dirty and so that made them extremely hostile towards the FBI Special Agents. Scola & Tiffany were speaking with Gerrard’s boss when the rumor first got out. They were actually confronted and had to push their way towards an exit because the cops wanted to intimidate them. Tiffany sorta understands. She was a cop before she was FBI. Scola on the other hand went from Wall Street to Quantico. He was never police. He also tends to be a rather distant to people he does like and so he couldn’t connect with the officers.

Not even if he tried. Scola and Tiffany got out of there and they returned to headquarters just long enough to hear about the second shooting. Another detective from the same precinct as well as squad was shot. This officer managed to survive his injuries and so he was asked if he recognized the killer. He didn’t. He said the only thing the killer told him before he was shot was “die you, bastard”.

The officer claims there was nothing he did or Gerard did that would warrant someone trying to kill them other than doing their jobs and putting bad guys away. But that was a lie. The two men were involved in a takedown of a drug kingpin and two hundred thousand dollars went missing during the arrest.

One of the detectives working the scene was found guilty of stealing that money. He went to prison and he was killed three weeks ago there. The FBI suspected that the other detectives might have taken a cut as well. They went after the kingpin and they later found him. Rafael Alvarez claims he had nothing to do with the shootings but he knows who does. He said the money the cops stole didn’t belong to him. It actually belonged to the DeMarco brothers and they wanted their money back. They bragged about killing the cop in prison. They now wanted to kill Alvarez and so he needed protection. But funnily enough it was the DeMarco brothers trying to kill cops. It was in fact someone named Ray Rudinsky.

Ray was the song of Patrick Rudinsky. Otherwise known as the dirty cop who went to prison for stealing Alvarez money and so Ray was getting revenge for his father. His father went to prison because he believed in the blue wall. He took ten thousand dollars of Alvarez after being pressured by the other cops and then he got caught out. He went to prison. He didn’t tell anyone about the other dirty cops because they made sure to take care of his wife. She was getting money every week in return for his silence. But then Pat started having problems in prison. He confessed to his son that it hadn’t been his idea to steal the money and that he was only paying for it because of his loyalty to the others.

Then Pat died. His son Ray blamed the other cops who took the money and so he wanted revenge. He already shot two detectives and he was going after the third person. The beat cop. The FBI tried to warn Officer Ruiz. Tiffany and Scola went to the officer’s home to warn her and Tiffany found Ruiz bleeding out. She was calling it in when Ray surprised her. Ray was still in the house and he had taken both Tiffany and Ruiz hostage. Scola was forced to retreat. He called it in and they had someone try to talk the kid down. But he refused. He demanded Detective Dane. He wanted another chance at killing him and it didn’t help that Ruiz had gotten talkative. She confessed that she testified against his dad because the other detectives convinced her that his dad was dirty.

Ruiz lied on the stand. She said that his dad was the first to arrive to the scene and not the last. She regrets what she did now because she began suspecting the other detectives lied and she herself admits to herself now that she truly lied because she didn’t want this hurting her promotion to detective. Ray got so angry at her confession that he tried to kill her but Tiffany stopped him. Tiffany and Ray fought over the gun. She killed him and the cops wanted that to be the end of the story. Tiffany tried to convince Ruiz to come forward about Dane and she refused. She wasn’t going to risk her career over people that were dead.

Tiffany did her own research. She found out that Dane and Gerrard both opened up accounts under an assumed name after the drug bust and they bled those accounts dry paying off Pat’s widow. Tiffany now has the means to go after Dane and she wasn’t sure if she wanted to do it. She would be going against the Blue Wall known as the NYPD if she did.

THE END!
