General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, April 2 Recap – Jason Denied Bail, Sent To Pentonville – Sonny & Nina Romantic Dance

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, April 2, reveals that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) published an article about Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) arrest and how it was “the end of terror.” Plenty of Port Charles residents viewed that article on their devices, including Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).

Liz wanted to talk to Cameron Webber (William Lipton) about what happened with his brother, but Cam insisted he’d watch what he said around Jake Webber (Hudson West) from now on. However, Cameron argued that Jason was guilty and that it was time for him to pay.

At the art gallery, Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) were thrilled over their acceptance emails from Port Charles University. Joss was still waiting to hear back from another university that was her first choice.

Once Cameron arrived, he hugged Trina over the great PCU news and wanted to celebrate. Things were a bit awkward with Josslyn – and they once again turned heated after Trina stepped away.

Josslyn wanted Cameron to open his eyes to the fact that Jason was a professional and wouldn’t have been this sloppy, but Cam refused to budge. He was convinced Jason killed Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth).

After Cameron flew into a rage, Joss insisted she was done giving him a pass because of his grief. Later, Josslyn received a text that informed her she’d been waitlisted at her first-choice university.

Across town, Peter seemed pleased over the article that attacked Jason, but Jackie Templeton (Kim Delaney) wasn’t. She confronted Peter and ranted about how this poor excuse for journalism was indefensible.

However, Peter argued that Jackie had signed a two-year contract – and he had no intention of letting her out of it.

As for Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), he crossed paths with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) at the Metro Court and learned Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) was missing her uncle. Finn surprised Chase with updates on his split from Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).

Chase knew what it was like to lose the woman you love and wouldn’t wish that on anyone – even Finn. They shared a nice albeit uncomfortable moment as Chase assured Finn he’d make some time to visit Violet soon.

Afterward, Chase met with Jackie, who was pleased to hear that her son was willing to try and move past everything that happened. It would take time, but Chase thought they could sit down for a family discussion.

In Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) hotel suite, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) woke up in bed alone and took in the scene of clothes scattered all over the room. When Liesl emerged from the shower in a robe, Scott and Liesl decided that they should talk about “what happened here…and here…and over there.”

Scott pointed out that maybe their emotions were driving things and promised it wouldn’t happen again – unless Liesl wanted it to. Liesl asked if that’s what Scott wanted. They established that they’d both be on board with doing this again sometime, but Liesl cut the conversation short so they could get to the courthouse.

Meanwhile, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) cornered Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) outside the courtroom and begged for help. Anna wanted Robert to push for Jason to be let out on bail.

Anna argued that the situation with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and the five families was a powder keg waiting to blow, but Jason could be the stabilizing force needed on the outside.

Over with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), she spoke with Jason and Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy). Diane warned Carly not to expect instant gratification and didn’t have high hopes about Jason’s bail due to his criminal history.

Diane insisted that barring a miracle, Jason would remain in custody until the trial. Peter also showed up for court and gained access using his press badge.

Once Jason went before the judge, Robert said the state had no objection to bail. Diane pushed for Jason to be released right away; she vowed that they’d post whatever bond the court deemed necessary.

Later, the judge denied bail anyway. Jason learned he would be staying at Pentonville until it was time for his trial.

Afterward, Carly made it clear to Peter that Jason’s innocence would be proven eventually. Peter also gloated to Liesl and Scott about Jason being stuck behind bars. As for Liz, she flashed back to her interaction with Peter regarding Franco at GH.

Elizabeth also recalled a faceoff with Carly about whether Jason really killed Franco.

Before Liz could leave to see Finn, he showed up on her doorstep. Finn was curious if something happened since they last spoke. Liz talked about Jake’s belief in his father’s innocence as well as Cameron’s certainty that Jason was guilty.

Elizabeth confessed she wasn’t so sure Jason killed Franco – then wondered who else might’ve.

At The Tan-O, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) put some music on and danced with Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) before Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) entered. Sonny wondered if he looked ridiculous, but Nina thought he looked happy.

Later on Friday’s General Hospital episode, Phyllis nudged Sonny to take Nina to the firehouse dance. Nina wasn’t sure she’d even still be in town, but Phyllis thought “Mike” and his dimples were reason enough to stay.

Nina insisted the firehouse chili was to die for and left Sonny to talk about it with Nina.

Nina noted that for the record, she wasn’t looking to date. Sonny wasn’t either and suggested he was glad they got that out of the way. That said, Sonny and Nina agreed they both enjoyed chili.

After Nina took Elijah Crowe’s (Dan White) about his upcoming insider’s tour, she acknowledged Sonny’s concern and insisted she could take care of herself.

Phyllis returned after forgetting her badge for the hospital and put some music on. She thought “Mike” should show the lady how it’s done! Sonny said Phyllis was hard to say no to and suggested they might as well.

Sonny argued they should practice so they shouldn’t embarrass themselves at the firehouse dance.

After Sonny and Nina shared a close moment while dancing, he remembered the blonde woman from his dreams. Phyllis approved of the pair together and felt like Nina was good for “Mike.”

General Hospital spoilers say Sonny and Nina will grow even closer in the coming episodes, so stay tuned to ABC’s GH. CDL will have all the scorching General Hospital spoilers, updates and news you need, so pop back in soon.
