General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, August 13 Recap – Lenny Dies – Carly Talks More Than Platonic Jason Marriage

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, August 13, reveals that Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) died while Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) talked about the potential for a more than platonic marriage. It was also revealed that Naomi Dreyfus (Gigi Bermingham) died following a deadly neck injection, so here’s how Friday’s GH episode played out.

In Nixon Falls, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) made plans for a fishing trip they wanted to take with Lenny and Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy).

While Sonny sold Nina on the idea, Lenny watched the sunset and seemed tired with Phyllis outside.

Phyllis stepped in The Tan-O and spoke with Nina about the trip while Sonny joined Lenny, who was unresponsive. A quick check of Lenny’s pulse told Sonny that Lenny was dead, so he was instantly saddened over the news.

Sonny headed back in the bar and locked eyes with Phyllis as she dropped a glass in despair. The look on Sonny’s face along with his nod told Phyllis that Lenny was dead.

Soon after, Phyllis sat by Lenny’s body outside as Nina and Sonny stood there wondering how to help. After Phyllis requested a moment alone with her husband, she broke down and sobbed over the loss.

Sonny talked to Nina about how painful it must be to lose a spouse, so that naturally brought some guilt for secretive Nina.

Back in Port Charles, Carly spoke to a vision of Sonny about her impending marriage to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). She worried this would change her relationship with Jason.

“Sonny” noted that it would indeed change unless Jason and Carly decided to stay platonic and not have a real marriage.

Carly said they hadn’t decided, but “Sonny” felt like this was something she needed to talk to Jason about instead of him.

However, Carly thought the real issue was that if Jason became her husband, it meant she’d have to let go of Sonny.

Carly assured “Sonny” that she loved him in a way she could never love someone else, so they confirmed that they loved each other forever before the vision disappeared.

At GH, Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) spoke with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) about Naomi’s toxicology report.

Dante explained that it was highly unlikely that Naomi’s death was an accident. It turns out Naomi was injected with a lethal drug somewhere atypical: the back of her neck.

Jordan eventually pulled Shawn aside to encourage him to concentrate on TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) and his future instead of all the mystery solving. Meanwhile, Jason was unable to put Jasper “Jax” Jacks’ (Ingo Rademacher) mind at ease regarding Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) safety.

Jax stormed out of Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) office, so Jason talked to Britt alone briefly.

Britt took some comfort in knowing that Jason was struggling over the sacrifice he made and that she wasn’t on her own in that.

Jason sensed that Britt was pretending to be OK when it came to dealing with her Huntington’s marker knowledge, but she kept her guard up since that was how it had to be.

When Jason found Carly in the Corinthos kitchen, he wondered if she was all right. Carly smiled and was glad that Jason was home.

Back with Jax, he complained to Dante about the mob situation, but there was really nothing Dante could do about it. Jax made it clear that he’d step up and protect his daughter.

Next, Sam and Dante bonded over parenting problems and cracked some jokes about their first meeting of SPA – or Single Parents Anonymous. Dante suggested their first meeting could be right now, so he convinced Sam to join him for some beers.

At Wyndemere, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) welcomed Joss, Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) in ahead of the party.

Spencer offered up some VIP bracelets for the four of them and talked about adding a second launch for the night’s festivities.

While Josslyn and Trina were off changing for the bash, Spencer convinced Cam to change into some nicer clothes from Milan. Cameron dished out some tough love because Spencer was always trying too hard to impress everyone.

Cameron felt like Spencer should try having real conversations and letting people see the real him underneath.

As for Josslyn, she went against her previous promise to not meddle and offered a warning to Trina. Joss indicated that Spencer had been coddled and had gotten away with a lot as a result.

Joss hinted about Spencer being a messed-up guy, but she still thought he had a good heart. Trina thanked Josslyn for looking out for her as they stuck to their “sistas before mistas” motto.

Once Josslyn and Trina rejoined Cameron and Spencer, the party was about to kick off. Someone lurked outside waiting to derail the big night, so things are definitely about to get interesting!
