General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, January 29 Recap - Nina Learns Nelle Truth - Olivia Curses Alexis - Tracy Flees The Country

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, January 29, reveal that Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) took Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to her clinic for an evaluation. Sonny was bristly and didn’t want to be there, and the doctor at the clinic examined Sonny’s bloodwork.

Sonny was upset and thought that Phyllis didn’t have any faith in him, and he paced nervously.

The doctor told Sonny that a blood test revealed that he had lithium in his bloodstream, indicating that he was treated for bipolar disorder. The doctor ordered a dose of lithium for Sonny, but Sonny balked, thinking it was a con job.

Phyllis reassured Sonny that she cared about him, and eventually Sonny took the pill.

At the PCPD, Mac Scorpio (John J. York) had Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) brought to Jordan Ashford’s (Tiffany Daniels) office rather than the interrogation room. Mac blustered that Dante Falconeri (Dominick Zamprogna) might not survive, and Alexis went on, saying that she never meant to hurt Dante.

Mac quizzed Alexis about her actions, and she explained that she meant to go after Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) and that she didn’t know what was in the syringe that she picked up.

Mac angrily said that if Alexis had just taken the plea deal for her DUI and went to rehab, she wouldn’t have done any of this.

Alexis wailed that she was just trying to protect Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), and Mac fumed that Alexis had thrown her life away due to Julian Jerome (William deVry) but got it back again – and now she was throwing it away again.

Alexis sobbed as Mac asked if this was really the life that she wanted for herself.

At the Q mansion, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) spoke with Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) via phone, saying that she had to stay in Port Charles a while longer and make things right with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth).

Soon, Ned walked in looking for Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), but Tracy said that Olivia wasn’t there.

Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) walked in, having just returned from a conference. Monica learned about what Tracy did to Alexis, and she warned Tracy that the police were going to come looking for her.

Ned took off, and Monica urged Tracy to go somewhere out of the country where there’s no extradition.

At the hospital, Sam and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) were waiting in the hallway when Olivia rushed in, all upset and wondering what had happened to Dante. A code blared in the background and Olivia was frantic about what it all meant.

Soon, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) came out and said that Dante’s heart rate returned and that he was stable.

Olivia asked Sam and Robert what happened, and Sam relayed the whole incident to Olivia and how a drunk Alexis stabbed Dante with a syringe full of lidocaine as she tried to attack Franco.

Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr) emerged and said that Dante was stable but couldn’t have visitors yet. Olivia took off for the chapel to pray.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Franco agreed that it didn’t make sense that Dante would deliberately intervene as he did. Franco said that earlier, he had tried to attack Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) and that Dante came to Peter’s aid. That confused Jason.

Elizabeth walked up and started taunting Jason about killing Franco. Sam walked up just then and overheard the exchange, learning for the first time about Jason and Franco’s agreement.

Jason and Sam stepped aside, and Jason wondered why Dante tried to save Franco. Sam said that she just turned her mom in.

Elizabeth and Franco stepped aside as well, and Franco noted that people all over town were going to be angry with him now. Franco wondered if perhaps Elizabeth wanted to leave him now, and Elizabeth said that she wasn’t going anywhere.

In the hospital chapel, Olivia was praying when Robert came in and offered his comfort. From Olivia’s words, Robert gathered that Ned and Alexis had an affair.

Soon, Ned showed up in the chapel, and Olivia said that she didn’t want to see him, so Ned took off. Robert followed Ned out.

At the Metro Court, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) put her half of the heart together with the half that she took off of Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson). The halves fit perfectly.

Nina asked where Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) was, and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) said that Avery was headed back to Wyndemere, but that she told him everything about the necklace.

Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) looked tentatively at Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) as Michael said that Avery found the necklace in the clearing near our family cabin, and that the last time the cabin was used before that was when Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) kidnapped Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Theo and Erik Olson).

“Nelle was at the cabin?” Nina asked. Michael said that Nelle had run off into the woods, but that he had never seen Nelle wear the necklace. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) chimed in, saying that the nurse who took Nina’s baby to her adoptive parents went to Florida.

“Nelle was from Florida,” Michael blurted. Nina mused that Nelle was the right age to be her daughter.

Michael got a text from Sam and took off, while Nina wondered if Nelle could be her daughter. “Could she really possibly be my daughter this whole time?” Nina asked. “Yes,” Jax said.

Carly then stepped up and tried to make up some lame story, but Jax stopped her. “You need to know the entire truth about Nelle,” Jax told Nina.

Back at the hospital chapel, Portia arrived and updated Olivia on Dante’s condition, which was getting better. Michael walked into the chapel as Portia left, saying that he just heard about Dante.

Michael offered Olivia his support then left. Olivia walked out of the chapel by herself and cursed Alexis. saying that she’d make Alexis pay.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Robert tracked down Ned and told him that Olivia didn’t want him around. Ned told Robert to stay out of it and that it wasn’t his business. “I’ll wait for Olivia to realize that I love her, and that I’m all the support that she needs,” Ned fumed before storming off.

Back at the PCPD, Mac hung up the phone and said that he was sending a car to pick up Tracy for setting Alexis up. Mac also told Alexis that he just got word that Dante was going to make it. Alexis was glad, but Mac said that she was still facing felony assault and attempted murder charges.

Finally, back at the Q mansion, Monica opened the door to a police officer. “I have a warrant for Tracy Quartermaine,” the officer said. Monica politely said that the officer was welcome to search the grounds, but that Tracy had left the country.
