General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, July 9 Recap – Finn & Liz New Peter Corpse Problem - Carly Throws Jason Love in Britt’s Face

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, July 9, reveals that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) threw her forever Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) love in Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) face. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) also found themselves facing a new Peter August (Wes Ramsey) corpse problem, so here’s how it all went down.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) wondered why she shouldn’t just kick Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) over all the ELQ drama.

However, Valentin noted that it’d be a shame for “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom) to have to be shuttled from co-parent to co-parent. He was grateful that Monica was letting him stay.

Afterward, Carly convinced Jason to break the engagement news to Monica on his own at GH.

Monica was surprised to learn Jason and Carly were getting married, but she understood their devotion and only wanted Jason’s happiness.

Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) approached Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) in hopes of getting her support for the chief of staff position.

Britt sauntered over and taunted Terry about turning this into a popularity contest, but Terry took a jab about Britt needing to consider why she’s so unpopular.

Once Britt walked off, Terry admitted she took the low road. Portia wanted Terry to be sure she understood what she was getting into with this position.

It would mean fewer patient connections and more paperwork, but Terry thought she could make a real difference and spark some much-needed changes.

Over with Liz and Finn, they mulled over a plan to move Peter’s body before the security workarounds Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) had in place disappeared.

Monica overheard part of their discussion and insisted there was no need to worry since the security cams were all working again.

In Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) office, she warned that Judge Carson (Anita Finley) might not go down – even with the incriminating recording.

Jordan suggested she could try to shield Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos), but Molly knew Jordan had a better chance with more details.

Molly was willing to be involved, even if she got fired from the DA’s office or just became unpopular there. At Pentonville, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) panicked at the thought of going back in solitary confinement.

There was a struggle that resulted in Alexis hurting her wrist, so Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) stood up to the guard and ranted about Alexis’ osteoporosis.

Jordan arrived just before things got out of hand between Shawn and the guard.

Jordan was there to take Shawn and Alexis into protective custody, so she assured Alexis she wouldn’t have to go back in solitary and would be safe.

Soon after, Alexis reunited with Molly and gave her daughter a hug back in Jordan’s office.

Shawn and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) also came together for an emotional embrace.

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) also lashed out at Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) for warning Portia away from him. Stella wasn’t happy to hear about the kiss Curtis and Portia shared.

Stella was still rooting for Curtis and Jordan to reunite, but Curtis insisted his marriage was over.

Even so, Stella pointed out that Portia had made mistakes of her own in the past.

Back at the Quartermaine mansion, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) could tell Valentin was distracted during their meeting about business matters.

Martin had a hunch this was about Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), but Valentin wasn’t interested in discussing his personal issues with Martin.

Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was unsettled when she ran into Austin (Roger Howarth), who rushed off to the hospital for a job interview.

Britt found it odd that Austin wanted to bail on his private practice in Pautauk and take a position in Port Charles, but Austin was hired anyway.

Back with Maxie, she thought Anna seemed suspicious of Austin.

Maxie was certain Austin had nothing to do with Louise’s kidnapping, but Anna admitted she found out Austin had the same last name as someone she used to know.

Anna had a flashback of recognizing Austin’s father in that photo and seemed intrigued.

Maxie quizzed Anna for details on the nature of her relationship with Valentin, but Anna insisted they were sticking to friendship.

Anna reflected on not deserving happiness, but Maxie didn’t agree and offered forgiveness since she’d come to realize sometimes you can keep secrets for good reasons.

Later, Maxie found out Austin had been employed at the hospital – and Anna was taken aback to see Valentin when the elevator doors opened at the Metro Court.

Back with Carly, she had a nasty confrontation with Britt at GH.

Carly lied that it was too soon to get together with Jason after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) first died, but they just couldn’t help themselves once Jason returned from being on the run.

Britt scoffed over Carly acting like she simply had a fling with Jason and didn’t believe any of this.

Carly insisted what Britt had with Jason was fleeting, but what Carly had with him was forever.

When Jason joined Carly, Britt told them both to “go to hell” and rushed off. Jason glared at Carly and wondered what she just did, so another fierce faceoff is brewing!
