General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, September 24 Recap – Obrecht Pulls Knife on Victor – Sonny Dumps Nina

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, September 24, reveals that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) pulled a knife on Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) pushed Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to forget their Nixon Falls love story. Let’s talk about all the action in Friday’s thrilling GH episode.

At Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) apartment, she talked to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) about the Nina and Peter August (Wes Ramsey) situation. Britt admitted she already knew Sonny was alive thanks to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), but Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) had to wrap his head around that huge news.

The conversation shifted to the St. Lucia setup and Peter’s insistence that Liesl had been “handled.” However, Britt felt confident Liesl was alive since Peter didn’t like loose ends and plane crashes were his MO. If Peter wanted Liesl dead, he would’ve just crashed the plane with Scott inside, too.

While Scott vowed to get Liesl back, Obrecht argued with Victor in her “gilded cage.” Victor offered the chance to see Britt if Liesl would just stop being stubborn and open her heart. He hinted about a research project he wanted to collaborate on and expected Obrecht’s cooperation. Liesl ended up pulling a knife on Victor instead and held it to his throat!

Back in Port Charles, Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) spoke to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) over the phone about Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) pulling Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) into trouble.

Josslyn ran into Esme on her way out of the boxing gym, so that brought a tense exchange. Esme turned on the phony charm and tried to get to know Joss better, but Josslyn didn’t have time. She mentioned Sonny’s survival, so a stunned Esme headed back to Wyndemere to fill Spencer in.

As for Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma), he played chess with Spencer and quizzed him about Esme. Nikolas eventually admitted Spencer didn’t seem like a guy with a girlfriend when he was out on the turret with Trina.

Spencer rattled off all Trina’s great qualities, but he assured Nikolas that he only liked her as a friend and that Esme was his person. Moments later, Esme arrived with updates on Sonny being alive – and Spencer was thrilled.

Nikolas was pleased as well since Sonny could protect Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) and that could perhaps change Ava’s mind about leaving. Once Nikolas ran off hoping he could catch Ava, Esme warned Spencer about what a disaster this was.

Spencer was just glad Sonny was back, but Esme was more concerned about their plan being all for naught and felt they had to make a move. However, Spencer wasn’t concerned since he didn’t think Ava would change her mind about hitting the road.

Back with Josslyn, she caught up with Trina and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) at Charlie’s Pub. That led to a conversation about the stalker drama and just how involved Spencer was. They all debated how to go about busting Esme and Spencer before Nikolas arrived. He pulled Trina aside and begged for her help to find Ava since the situation had changed.

Afterward, Trina had a burst of inspiration and hinted to Cameron as well as Josslyn about how to trap the schemers. Next, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) discussed what might’ve been the shortest marriage in history at three hours tops. Although the marriage wasn’t legal, Carly and Jason admitted to meaning their vows when they said them.

Carly also mentioned Sonny staying in the guest room and learned Jason spent the night back in his old apartment. Although Carly was grateful to have Sonny home, she couldn’t help but think about this other life she might’ve had with Jason.

Carly wanted reassurance that they’d be all right, so Jason suggested they still had each other – no matter what. After Jason mentioned the car bomb drama and how he’d better be going, Carly stopped him since they hadn’t decided what Sonny should be told.

In the cemetery, Sonny pointed out his gravestone to Nina and felt it was her fault that his family had to grieve. He couldn’t forget that and wasn’t impressed by what Nina had to say for herself. Nina didn’t think there was any excuse that could make this better, but she did her best to apologize and explain her perspective.

After Nina argued that she didn’t mean to get caught up in the lie, she recalled how she grew closer to “Mike” and let herself take those months from him. Sonny was adamant that “Mike” didn’t exist and accused Nina of stealing his life. He flashed back to a kiss in Nixon Falls and urged Nina to forget about what they shared, but she couldn’t do that.
