General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Gigi Bermingham is set to debut as a Naomi Dreyfus recast, so Hayden Barnes’ (Rebecca Budig) mom will return to Port Charles on August 6. Thanks to a script that leaked back in June, we have a good idea of how Naomi’s comeback will go down. Let’s talk about what’s in store and consider what Naomi’s decision to resurface means for some upcoming storylines.
According to that leaked script we mentioned, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) will be enjoying a special day of fun with Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) when Naomi calls out to her granddaughter.
Naomi will prompt Violet to remember her grandma, so Violet will indeed get excited about this family reunion.
Before Violet came to PC with Hayden, she apparently had a relationship with Grandma Naomi. Now that Naomi is popping up again, she’ll want to spend plenty of time with Violet and may push Finn to schedule some visits for her.
There’ll definitely be some awkwardness as Finn and Liz face Naomi, who’ll end up connecting with Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) in the near future, too.
Shawn will hope Naomi can offer info on Hayden’s whereabouts and possibly her shooter, but we’ll see how much Naomi knows – and how much she’s willing to admit!
However, there’ll mostly be grandma issues on the August 6 episode.
GH’s preview clip shows Elizabeth asking how much contact “she” should have with Violet, so Liz may wonder exactly how much influence Finn’s going to let Naomi have on her grandchild.
It’ll be a difficult situation for Finn to navigate, but he’ll do the best he can under the circumstances.
Of course, Naomi’s return is a great sign for anyone hoping Hayden will also make a comeback. It’d be strange for GH to include Naomi in the story without Hayden returning down the road.
It sounds like Gigi Bermingham’s debut as Naomi Dreyfus will set the stage for some exciting drama.
