General Hospital Spoilers: Holly Sutton Return Update – Emma Samms Reveals GH Comeback Plans

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that fans were left with a big mystery last September that still hasn’t been resolved – and there’s a good reason why. GH fans will recall that Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) led the charge in hopes of finding Holly Sutton (Emma Samms), but he was duped by some fake evidence.

After all the casino drama, a body turned up that was burned beyond recognition in a shallow grave. It was the body of a woman who was the same height and build as Holly.

Sadly, Holly’s ring was also found, so Robert left with Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) and Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons) feeling defeated.

However, GH viewers then saw captive Holly on surveillance footage – revealing that Holly’s death had once again been faked to get Robert and his crew to leave.

The goal was to create a stopping point for that story since Emma Samms wasn’t able to reprise the role of Holly as planned. Due to Samms’ COVID-19 diagnosis, she was only able to film that short scene at home in her guest room.

Of course, plenty of fans are still hopeful about Samms returning as Holly sooner or later. Samms is hopeful about that, too – and she confirmed it would happen eventually in the new issue of SOD.

Unfortunately, Samms admitted her health still isn’t at 100 percent, but she’s trying to see the silver lining.

“I didn’t get hospitalized, I didn’t have the really awful, acute version, so I’m grateful for that,” Samms said. Even so, Samms does have some lingering symptoms and is still recovering at her home in England.

It’s a battle that Samms is still working to overcome, but she’s excited about the day when she can make a big comeback as Holly.

Samms suggested that when she gets healthy again, she’ll be more than willing to return to General Hospital and keep telling the rest of Holly’s story.

General Hospital Executive Producer has assured Samms that a spot will be waiting for her as long as she offers up a little advance notice so they can write her in.

Samms just has to give a six-week warning and she’ll be back in the action in no time. “I am so grateful for that because it is a lovely light at the end of the tunnel,” Samms said.

It’s good to know Samms indeed plans to return when she can – and we’ll all look forward to seeing Holly again!
