General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) may soon get his hands on some interesting information. As GH viewers know, when the action left off last week, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) had just come to Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) with some awful news – the New Jersey cops had found Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) St. Christopher’s necklace in the river.
Now it seems that Jason and Carly are under the impression that Sonny’s gone for good, since the authorities are presuming that Sonny was trapped in the bridge wreckage and his body was then carried down the river. This is going to leave Jason and Carly emotionally distraught and needing somewhere to turn.
Well, while Jason and Carly will have the Corinthos family around to help them grieve and offer support, no one will really know their grief in the way that each other does.
In fact, Jason and Carly may get closer as a result of their shared grief over Sonny’s presumed death, and their history would suggest that they will. The best friends will surely rely on each other a lot during this awful time.
Of course, GH viewers know that Sonny isn’t gone, and that he’s currently laying in the ice and snow somewhere. GH buzz is that Sonny may be found and cared for by someone, and that he may be experiencing amnesia and won’t know who he is.
If that’s the case, then it could be a long while before Sonny is found and/or makes his way home.
Well, in the meantime, Jason and Carly could be growing even closer – something that Cyrus will certainly watch and note carefully. And since Cyrus is all about driving wedges between people, he’ll probably only seek to exploit Jason and Carly’s closeness when Sonny eventually does return.
In fact, Cyrus might just keep tabs on how close Jason and Carly are getting, filling in Sonny on the whole thing to alienate Sonny from Jason.
Making Sonny suspect or believe that Jason and Carly developed romantic feelings for each other would be a genius move on Cyrus’ part to distract Sonny and cause chaos among the enemy camp.
Cyrus knows that Jason and Sonny are a solid team, and if Cyrus were to find out that Carly and Jason slept together and/or got emotionally close during Sonny’s absence, that would be powerful ammunition.
We’ll see what happens, but it seems safe to say that Cyrus will be watching Jason and Carly carefully going forward. Do you think that Jason and Carly will end up getting closer and giving Cyrus something to exploit later when
