General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will mull over calling a dangerous new five families meeting. Carly and Jason may need to put on a risky couple show for Vincent Novak (Glenn Taranto) and the other heads of the families if there are doubts about the legitimacy of their engagement.
After all, these people weren’t born yesterday! These are seasoned mobsters who should be able to know a ploy when they see one. If anything, this sudden engagement and rushed trip to the altar might look desperate.
Perhaps it actually seems to the other families like the Corinthos organization is in more trouble than ever. Maybe it appears that two flailing schemers are in charge – scrambling for a way to keep control over Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) mob legacy.
There are hints about a mob attack putting Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) in danger during the week of August 2-6. That could be why Jason and Carly will have a strategy session during the week of August 9-13.
Carly and Jason will no doubt do some bickering as they tend to do in situations like this, but they’ll need to come together and settle on a solution. There’ll be talk about potentially calling another meeting of the five families.
Jason and Carly may feel they need an opportunity to show up as a united force to be reckoned with.
Carly went to the meeting on her own last time around since Jason was still behind bars, but now he’s a free man and can be right by Carly’s side.
They can flaunt their engagement along with their power and dish out some warnings if need be.
However, Vincent in particular doesn’t seem like a guy who scares easily. He also seemed surprised but not especially impressed by the recent news of Carly and Jason’s impending wedding.
It’s going to take more than a sham marriage to get the deadly Novaks to back off!
The stress of all this will take a toll on Jason, who gave up a romance and possible future with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) to make this engagement happen.
GH spoilers say Carly will worry that she pressured Jason into this and may be asking too much of him.
Nevertheless, Carly is always going to come first for Jason, who’ll remain committed to the charade and to doing whatever they have to do to protect the Corinthos clan.
