General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) may propose to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) after his Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) marriage flops. The show may be putting the pieces in place for a new engagement to follow Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) return.
Jason is sacrificing a lot for Carly and her family right now. Carly honestly doesn’t seem to be recognizing how much Jason’s giving up since he’s clearly fallen hard for Britt.
Jason also hates to see Britt so heartbroken – and Carly’s making that worse, too.
This is a bad situation all around, but GH spoilers say there’s hope for Jason to turn it around down the road.
Jason has accepted that this Carly marriage needs to happen to send a message to the Corinthos organization’s mob enemies. However, Carly doesn’t know her husband is alive and well in Nixon Falls.
Even if Carly ties the knot with Jason, it won’t be the real deal since she’s already married to Sonny. There’s even a chance Sonny could resurface before Carly and Jason actually make this marriage official.
Regardless, Jason and Carly’s marriage decision is a plot point. It’s not meant to be some amazing romantic story.
The writing still makes it seem like Britt and Jason’s new chapter will be waiting at the end of this mob mess.
However, Jason will obviously have a lot to make up for when the time comes. He’s hurt Britt deeply with his actions and may need a bold gesture to win her back.
Now that Jason’s gotten used to the idea of marrying Carly, he could go for a fiancée swap down the line.
Jason could opt to make Britt his bride instead and argue that he doesn’t want to waste a minute more of their life together.
We can’t forget that Britt has to make every moment count since she has the Huntington’s marker.
Britt doesn’t have any way of knowing how many more good years she’ll have left.
Jason would have to be careful due to how the other mob families might perceive his move, but even a secret engagement would be nice for a while.
Whatever the case, Jason needs to take charge of his own love life again – and he may have an opportunity to do that once Sonny’s back in the picture.
Things may be complicated due to Sonny’s memory issues, but Jason has to fix this with Britt at some point and pursue the future he truly wants!
